Who is on a plateau? Please respond. :-)
Hey all - I know I've read several people hit a wall around the six-month time frame. I certainly did. I am getting close to my fourth week on one. I was doing fine until I hit -100/6 months. Now I am STUCK! I keep going up and down on the same two pounds. grrrrr
So, I thought it would interesting for everyone who has been on a plateau more than two weeks to respond here. Maybe those of us on one won't feel so alone. haha
Ok I am one...anyone else?

I am stuck at -84 / 7 months. I wish I could reach the -100 mark.
My menu for today:
B - 1/2 cup cottage cheese (1% - 15 gr protein)
S - 1/2 cup diced watermelon \ honeydew melon
L - 1 Odyssey Protein Bar (18 gr protein)
S - 1/2 cup cottage cheese (1% - 15 gr protein)
D - 3 oz lean roast pork (22 gr protein)
S - Micro popcorn - lowfat - no salt/oil / butters
Calories - approx 750 total
Fluids - 70 to 90 ounces of water
I have cut down on vegetable / fruit / starch intake. Any suggestions?

I am stuck as well. Have been in this plateau (this is my 3rd plateau so far) for about 4 weeks now. And I keep losing and gaining the same 4 lbs. It stinks, but I know it won't last forever. I have lost 96 lbs in 7 1/2 months, so I am by no means complaining about it, it is just frustrating to have to endure these silly plateaus every other month.

I've been on the mother of all plateaus! 2+ months! I know it's been mostly my fault. My food intake has been the pits and my protein has been minimal at best. But now that my move is done and the packing is nearly complete I can get back on track.
I'm making sure that I'm getting in 3-4 protein drinks a day and keeping the carbs in check. In one day the scale has gone down 2lbs. So I'm on day two of being on track and giving my body what it needs.

Thanks Melissa!
I now know why we're not supposed to make any major life changes in the first year out, moving being one of those no-no's. Doing something that major takes your focus off of yourself and places it on the task at hand. We were in transition for nearly 3 months and the plateau was my 'punishment'. But the bright side is that we're in a better place in life now. My husband is with a new company and it's a great fit for all of us. And although I'm living away from my family for the first time in my life, I feel like I'm finally strong enough to handle it.
So now I can eat instead of packing...it's amazing how you can get so sidetracked that you don't eat (and thus, don't lose weight). I can take the time out in my day to plan better meals and to get those protein shakes in.
It's also been through this move that I've learned just how important protein REALLY is! Without adequate amounts our weight loss fails and our hair falls out. Right now my goal is to get in 150gms of protein a day. Seems like a lot...but since we don't absorb it all I think it's best to stay on the high side. It's also not so tough when the protein powder that I'm using has 32gms in each shake.
My new schedule -
Get up - have a protein drink
Hour later have breakfast
hour later start drinking water
an hour before lunch have another protein drink
Hour after that, lunch
Hour after tha****er
An hour before dinner have another protein drink
Hour after that, dinner
Hour after tha****er
Then I usually work out (treadmill, take the dog for a walk, etc.)
And one last protein drink.
I'll keep ya'll posted on how it's working...
Anyone else want to share how they're breaking their plateaus?
Jen
Hi Melissa,
Wow reading your story is like reading my own, I am exactly in the same place as you, I am getting real bummed, even thought I know everyone will say it is normal, but you still cant help but still feel bummed. I do not usually respond to these boards but I just had to tell you that I am right there with you. Let me know if you find a secret jump start and I will do the same. Hows your hair loss?
Thanks for posting
Wendy
Hi Wendy! Wow - you are one day older than me on this journey!
I feel VERY bummed out! I had gotten so use to losing - even though I never really lost huge chunks at a time. But I got use to .5 about every day. Man, this really pulled me back into reality!!
I am so glad you wrote! It means a lot that you did!
My hair loss isn't as bad as it was, but I still have it falling out. I cut my hair shorter and use Nioxin. I am thinking those two working together helped slow it some. I am ready for it to stop so I can start regrowing it!
Please keep in touch and I wish you the best of luck getting out of this horrible plateau!
Hugs,
Melissa
