Sense of Balance
I am just wondering if lots of others are also finding their sense of balance seems worse or off after surgery. Before surgery I never had any balance problems. But now I find I can make a mis-step just walking down the hallway once in awhile or when I turn around to rise the other side of my body in the shower. Vicky
Hi Vicky....
I think I have to agree... My middle name has become 'Grace' since I have had this surgery.... I have broken my foot a couple of months back, and today I fell UP my stairs coming in the house, and I think I have broken my finger trying to brace myself on the door jam...
Gosh, what a klutz I have become....

I'm exactly the same. I had two thoughts on this. Are our bodies so used to dealing with us being overweight and now that we are losing so rapidly it is having trouble adjusting and the other thought is could it be related to blood pressure dropping? Mine is way worse after I've been working out and doing arobics. If I turn around too fast I get off balance. I'm so glad somebody else is having this problem, I thought it was just my own weird self. Good luck to all. Carol
As a pre-op klutz, post-op has been worse. After years of being used to a certain body size and automatically knowing the space it consumes, a new, smaller body is gonna take some time to adjust to. We take up less space and our minds haven't caught up with our bodies yet. Like when I lean back against a wall or door frame, it's like I'm gonna fall because now I should stand closer before leaning back!
