6 month check up!!!

I'm down exactly 80 pounds. My surgeon & I are very pleased. He says I need to start exercising to get the final weight off. Has anyone tried Curves and what do you think of it? What other kinds of exercises are you doing? If you could recommend any tapes/gyms (Oklahoma City)/ or workout regimins, I would be grateful. With all this weight off, I'm excited to get active!!!

Lyndsay, Congratulations on your weight loss! I have been going to Curves for the past 3 months and I really like it! I can see a big difference in my muscles since starting there. Not like I'm big and buff or anything, but my thighs and arms are toned up now. They also measure you once a month and you can see how many inches you have lost, since sometimes the scales don't show that you are losing. The Curves program exercises all major muscle groups, and the more muscle we have the more calories we can burn. I highly recommend Curves! Brenda 283/190/? -93 pounds

I'm 6 months post op also. I do Leslie Sansone walking tapes in my house. I started out with the one mile and her weights and now I'm doing the 2 mile tape and will work up to the 3 mile one. I know that it has helped me lose 120 pounds and do it everyday sometimes twice a day. Keep up the good work. Carol

I do Curves, and like it, way better than any gym I've belonged to - not so much because I'm sure it's the best exercise program, but because I feel comfortable, so I keep going back. I can't tell you how many New Years I've joined a gym, gone twice and never looked back! Most of the gyms I went to were full of identical blond skinny women, and covered with mirrors. The women at Curves are all shapes, sizes, ages and colors, so I never feel out of place, even in my frumpy sweats!
