Has anyone found that they get more bruises after the surgery? I've noticed this and they seem to last longer. I see my surgeon next week so I am going to ask him about this; but I was wondering if anyone else has the same experience. Have a great Friday! Mary 302/216/???

I posted a question about this earlier this week on the main message board. Since I've been outside in the garden, carting plants and tools all around, my arms and legs are covered in black and blue marks. The bruises seem to be worse than they used to be, too. Suggestions I received from my posting focused on Vitamin C or vitamin K. The supplement that I have been taking post-op has only 65 mg of Vitamin C, not much. I bought some Vitamin C supplements a week ago and am currently taking 2-1000 mg tablets in the a.m. and the p.m. Vitamin K, I've not done anything about. One poster said that your physician would supplement Vitamin K if there was a deficiency. Definitely, I would talk this over with your doctor next week. I wasn't having this problem when I saw mine last month, and I'm not scheduled to go to see him until late August. Keep us posted- Sue O.

Frequent bruising is usually as sign of anemia..I would really get with my doctor or surgeon and get some new labs. (By the way, your losses are GREAT!!! Congratulations!!) Kathy 242/163/120

Mary, I'm also having a lot of bruising. I asked my surgeon about this and he said it's because our skin is not as thick and we have lost a lot of fat that used to be a buffer. He said this would get better in a couple of months. Hugs, Candy 266/176/1?? -90
