Hi everyone. It has been a while since I posted, I have been lurking a lot lately, but I wanted to give my 6 month update. I have officially lost 94 lbs according to the scale this morning. I have to work on getting some updated pictures posted on my profile. This has been an amazing ride for me and I have enjoyed it for the most part. This surgery has significantly changed my life and taught me a whole new way of looking at food. Now if I can just get off my butt and get to the gym. Maybe we should start an exercise accountability post for the December 2004 board. Anyway how are all the rest of the 13'rs doing? Tina 337/243/145ish

Hi Tina; Sounds as though you are doing good and probably loooookkkkkkking good also. Bet all the guys are chasing you by now. Anyway I too have done well although not near so good as you but hopefully one day I will get to that century mark. It does however seem so elusive at this point and sometimes I am tempted to say to heck with it because it seems that I am fighting a losing battle. (pun intended) My stats are 328/246/1??. (-82lbs) I am however thankful that I can now tie my shoes without coming up for air 4 times and I no longer wear a size 48 pants, (40's now) I no longer wear a 3xl shirt, (Large now) I can join in life instead of just existing, and most of all I really enjoy SEX again as it is now a pleasure and not a chore. I even have times now that I feel like a little But most of all I am thankful for a 2nd chance at life and maybe living longer. Today I had a customer come into my business and commented on how much weight I had lost, also my wife is always telling me how good I look but when I look in the mirror I still see the same fat me. I am just wondering how long it will take for me to see the new me. How many pounds do I have to lose before I stop driving myself crazy because I have not lost as much as you other guys have? Will there ever come a time when I stop comparing myself to everyone else? Your Loser Friend, Jim

Thank you James. It sounds to me you are coming along very well indeed. You are probably losing lots of inches so don't worry about the lbs. I can't really tell how much I have lost by looking in the mirror either, until someone that I haven't seen in a while drops their jaw looking at me. I went to Field Day at my kids school today and the teachers didn't recognize me until my son ran and hugged me. That was a wls moment for me. My husband tells me that I am losing weight daily and I feel like I am getting shorter. Why is that?

Well, I'm not a 13'r, but I did weigh in this morning for the first time in a month, so I thought I'd post too. I'm down 83 lbs since surgery, and 116 overall. I was hoping to get to the century mark by 6 months, but that's obviously not going to happen, but I'm enjoying the ride. It's hard not to compare your progress to others, but on the positive side, I'm not seeing much sagging skin yet, although that could be because I still have so much to lose! I went back to the gym this morning after an absence of a few months, and that was a positive thing for me! I need to keep it up. Shirley 383/350/267/165ish

Congratulations on your weight loss Shirley!! I know the hardest thing to do is make that first trip to the gym after taking a break from it. My kids get out of school on Friday so I'm sure they will start pressuring me to take them to the gym so they can get in the pool. Tina

Tina, You are doing great . Keep up the good work. I'll join you on an exercise accountability post. Actually, I have been very good about exercise ever since my surgery (actually even before). Congratulations, Mary 302/216/???

Thanks Mary. Maybe you can push me in the direction of the gym before the week is out. Congratulations on your weight loss. Tina

Tina, The worst part, in my opinion, is getting to the gym. Once you are there, it gets easier. The best feeling is when you are done and you know that you have done something good for yourself. All that being said, I slept through the alarm this morning and didn't make it to the gym. Keep me posted on your progress with the gym. Mary 302/216/???
