Hey all, I'm taking my daughter and step daughter to Disney in Orlando on June 23rd. We'll be there for at least a week, then head to sunset beach for three days. I figure I'll need this for sanity rest after Orlando!! The girls are 10 & 13. Are there any must see recommendations? I've also bought tickets to sea world, silver springs, air boats to see the alligators, and that Arabian nights dinner theatre. My aunt works for Disney so I didn't have to buy those tickets - that allowed me to be able to splurge for the others. Let me know any must see or must do's you recommend for us. I can't wait to ride the rides and not feel like they are going to break on me. Hugs, Candy 266/181/1?? -85

If I were you, I would have skipped Silver Springs and the alligator boat rides. Arabian Nights is good, but actually Dolly Parton's Dixieland Stampede is better. You can always do both? You should try to at least get one day of Universal in, especially if you have younger kids. But you are going to need a lot of time for Disney. Get lots of rest before you come! There is tons of stuff to do while you are here.

Isabel, Thanks for the info. I wish I had talked to you before I bought the tickets! We've been to the Dolly Parton's dixieland stampede several times at Murtle beach and my ten year old is wild about horses so I thought they would enjoy the arabian nights as something different. We have three days at Disney, two at sea world, one for gator airboats & silver springs. We get there on the 25th and leave on July 2nd so we really don't have time to do Universal. Unless we just ditch the alligators and silver springs. Which of the Disney parks do you think they would enjoy the most. Thanks again Isabel for the info. Candy

Honestly, to me, two days at Sea World is a lot. I don't go there often and I can usually see everything in one day. Did you get a two day park pass? I wonder if you can use it for Busch Gardens in Tampa...it's not that far and they owned by the same company. They should enjoy Arabian Nights If I were you, I would DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY ditch Silver Springs and the alligators. You are wasting your time there. Go to Universal instead - they'll love it. Out of the Disney parks, for them, the Magic Kingdom is the best. If your aunt is getting you in, you can park hop and probably do some things in Epcot and Animal Kingdom in the same day. You should try to catch the parade in the Magic Kingdom at night - its definitely worth it. Are you going to have breakfast with the characters at one of the Disney hotels? So in conclusion, find out about the second day at Sea World. Forget about Silver Springs and the alligators. If you are staying at a hotel where they have a lake, you might spot one anyway. (EEK!)

Hey Isabel, I bought one day passes to Sea World - they just have a special going on that you buy one day and get a second free - good only there. The girls are big fans of the dolphins and whales. I asked them and they could care a less about characters at their age. We are staying at Westgate town center. About a mile from Disney. We'll plan on going to Universal then. Thanks for all your help! Candy

You can see alligators in retention ponds all around Florida... and its free! Of course, they aren't the most exciting creatures to watch.... but they are cute! Have fun! Laura - 60 miles South East of Orlando

Laura, Free - I like the sound of that! You can come and join us for fun! I'd love to meet one of my December surgery buddies! I would love to try to go to the Orlando meeting but would have to take the kids and that probably wouldn't be too cool. Candy

I don't have any helpful information since I haven't been there in years, but I just wanted to tell you I hope you have a great time. You deserve it! Melissa
