Having a rough time here

I am having a bad week I guess. I moved into a new home this week First time homeowner and Im thrilled, but have noticed that the scales arent movinga nd I feel like Im eating everything!!!! Today I had 1 tillamoo 1 lunchable 1oz peanuts 1 cup scalloped potatoes 4 tater tots 2oz of cake 10 wheat thins and easy cheese!!!! I feel like a cow!!! And im hungry!!!! Any suggestions on how to beat the munchies? Jamie

Jeez compared to what I used to eat that is not a lot at all! I have to say that I eat more than that in a day- if you are a cow than I am a bull! I will say however that I stay away from the carbs. I find that I get hungry too fast after I eat them. And my dr made me promise him to steer clear of them! No bread and no pasta. I can eat potatos a coulple times a week. I do! I also eat my cheese and pepperoni on a crackers and have cracker snacks. He said that if you eat carbs with snacks and bread or pasta with mealsand the total carbs in one day add up! Here is what I ate yesterday and you will see I eat more! 1 oz of scrambled eggs 3 oz salad with feta cheese and greek dressing 2 oz dried fruit and nut mix 10 ritz snack crackers 1 1/2 oz of chicken with moz cheese 1 teaspoon mashed potatoes w cheese 6 crackers with cheese and peperoni 2 sugar free ice pops 2 jolly ranchers That was my total day. As you can see I eat more! You are just having a bad week. All of us go through them. Now is the time that many of us slow down and then you will see a sudden jump in the scale! Just keep on going- each day is a new and better one and you WILL hit your goal! your sister in WLS Chandi 305/209/?

Jamie, That is really not a lot of food; however, it IS a LOT of carbs. Carbs will make you hungry and make you snack even more!!! You NEED the protein and the protein will help keep you from getting the munchies so much. Oh, by the way... Congrats on the new home! How exciting! When I get the munchies, I eat dry roasted peanuts or baby carrots. Both of them have gotten stuck in my pouch because I didn't chew them completely, so be careful. But, I find these satisfy my munching needs and my need for oral activity : ) Karen -80lbs

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION! That dosent sound like a lot of food to me but... I does sound like a lot of CARBS ie. scallop potatoes tater tots wheat thins I dont know what a tillamoo is? But my DR. says that if you eat Carbs they make you crave more carbs. Just try to stay away from the carbs eat more protein and veggies. This will fill you up without adding to the CARB frenzie. Hi Jamie, We are all going to have good and bad days, weeks and even months! .You were excited you just bought a new house!. Think of that meal as your one time celebration and get back on the wagon. Two things I noticed. Moving is very stressful and I know I used to eat when I was stressed. The other is, that is not that much food, but it is a lot of carbs as someone else suggested. Carbs begat carbs. I also saw nothing about protein supplements. I usually get 50-60 grams of protein a day in protein supplements and I strive for a total of 100-120 grams of protein. Protein does not spike our blood sugar and stays with us longer. Do some research on the glycemic index and eat food that is low on the index. For example, I learned that sweet potatoes are much lower on the glycemic index than white potatoes. I eat sweet potatoes now when I am going to have a potato and the carb cravings became much more manageable. When I get stressed I walk or try to do some type of physical activity. I have had to learn that my success is tied directly to my actions. I have lost 102 pounds in six months and am still losing. Six months ago I would not have bet that I could have done the things I am doing. The great thing is that you are talking about the problem and asking for help. You go girl. P.S. Make sure you don't drink after you eat.
