6 MONTHS!...What a journey!
Hey all December friends! Can you believe it has been 6 months since our surgeries? What a journey!
Tomorrow I go in for my 6 month dietician and surgeon follow-ups. I am down 130 pounds. I've gone down 5 pant sizes and even my new ones are already loose in the waist. I even bought a new bra 1 cup size smaller.
I am losing some hair, but still have plenty left. My skin under my arm and thigh is lose, but who cares.
I feel great! This was the best thing I've ever done for myself. However, the best news of all...my husband is going with me to talk to my surgeon about getting a lap band. He is well over 400 pounds and is on disability. I am so excited for his future. Although I weigh 10 pounds less than when he met me now, I've never known him less than 400.
Let me hear how you are doing!

Good for you Kristin. You are doing so wonderfully. I too am very thankful for my decision to have this surgery. I am down 90 lbs and I feel very very good. Tomorrow is my 6 month anniversary and I saw my surgeon last Tuesday. He was very pleased with my progress. I see my weight management doctors on the 15th. Each day I remember how I felt last December, how I could barely walk at 330 lbs, barely breath, such shortness of breath, how I had to contort my body to just wipe my ass, how I was jus****ching my life go by instead of living it. I am 57 years old and I have taken back my life and I am now living it. Hurrah for me Hurrah for all of us on this great journey. Still do Stupid Monica Trick but each day I learn more and more on how to make this a permanment weight solution.

Hey Kristin,
My fellow sixer. I know this has been a fabulous 6 mo. I go for my check-up tuesday. I can't wait for my surgeon to see me. I feel great, I know I still have alot to lose. I don't even know what my surgeons goal for me is. I will find out when I see him. Before surgery size38, today 24-26's. I would love to be in a 16-18 by our 1 yr anniversary.
My hubby is also looking into the lapband. He weighs 295-305lbs.
We still are investigating this.
Well I am glad to hear you too, are doing so well.

I too am almost 6 months out! I've just made the century club. I am very excited about the whole journey but am starting to make certain I get in all the requirements I need to so that I may continue to lose this weight! I am down 103 lbs. I started at a size 34w and am down to a 26WP. It feels amazing to wear shorts with no elastic waistband! I guess it's all the little things I get excited about the most! My hubby is going to take some updated photos tonight and find the ones he took the night before surgery and send them to OH so I can have a face on here!! Keep up the great work everyone!
You are doing great, Kristin!
I am down to 195 from 305 (BMI is now 27.2 instead of 40). I am wearing 12/14 sizes, my shoe size has gone from 11W to 10M. My bra size has gone from 42C to 36B. After months of not feeling so well (some problems) I am starting to feel better. These last couple of days have been bad, but this morning I woke up feeling really good.
Hurray for all of us!
Laura
Kristin,
You are certainly right about it being a great journey. Where have the 6 months gone?? Congratulations on your success. It feels wonderful, doesn't it??
I am down 85 pounds. I can't get over the difference in the way I feel and the way I can move. Like Monica, I remind myself regularly how awful I felt before this surgery and how hard it was to do the most basis things! I don't want to lose touch with how far I have come in this journey.
Take care,
Mary
