Hey BonBon I'm sorry your having galbladder problems. My surgeon did say even if you take the Urso(gallstone pills) 5% of wls patients still occur gallstones. I heard from my friend the pain is about the same as wls recovery and about the same time of recovery. We were comparing my lengh of pain and recovery from wls to her gallbladder surgery. Best wishes, Kelly

Hi BonBon... So sorry to hear that you are having GB troubles. I had begged my surgeon to remove mine during the WLS. He said he checks everyones, but unless it appears diseased, he does not remove them routinely. Mine was fine, and I was rather disappointed. I was hoping he could go ahead and remove it. My surgeon also does not put his patients on any meds to prevent gallstones. I've done fine, and in my last labs, my liver enzymes were actually on the low end of normal. This was after mine were horribly high pre-op. Good Luck with your GB surgery. I'm sure you will be just fine, but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers anyway. Susan

Hey Bon Bon, I just saw your post today so I might be too late. If you did have the surgery I wish you a speedy recovery. If you did not have the surgery yet don't worry about it, it's not that bad. I had it done in january 2000, and I was out of the hospital in 2 days. You will do fine! take care and God bless you! Your Surgery Sister Annette

Sorry to hear of your upcoming surgery Bon Bon. You will be in my prayers. My surgeon said mine looked fine during surgery therefore he didn't remove it. So far I haven't had any problems. He didn't put me on and medicine either. Hope I didn't need any. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Deana
