I need help like a dead man needs a coffin. I will be 6 months out on June 2 nd and I feel as though I have fell off the wagon. I haven't been to a meeting in about 3-4 months I can't seem to find anyone in my area that has the time to become a mentor or person that I can talk to regularly. I have dropped about 90+ lbs and the entire month of may has been awful.I haven't lost one pound and I go to ghe gymn 3 times a week. my eating habbits are terrible some days I don't even get 3 meals in:uhuh: can someone please help me and give me some advice on what to do and how to jump-start myself back to where I am supose to be going. I feel as though I can't make it. and no-one in my family can understand that. is there anybody with a kind word of advice I really feel like I am drowning......and I want to live. Katherine
Dee,
Thank you for even taking the time to reply to my post I am going to try what you suggested and do a shake for breakfast & lunch and a smarter choice for dinner and lots of water in between.....starting today. I will keep you abreast as to when the scale starts to move again. congrats go out to you, you look marvelous. keep up the good work yourself...I have about another 100 lbs I want to loose and I know that if something doesn't change and soon I won't loose it....Thanks again and may God bless you and your family.

6 months must the be "HELP ME" month as I'm struggling also with not getting enough to eat and then eating the wrong things
Don't give up girlfriend. Tell yourself you have a family right here
I'm not dropping any pounds either but then again we must remember that we slow down the further out we get.
I'm going to try drinks for meals instead of the wrong foods. I also bought me some small shrimp in a can that I mix up with mayo and eat that alone and it fills me up.
I also started taking the dogs for walks and making my walks longer every single day.

I think you really need to concentrate on finding someone in your area to talk to. I love having my wls family here to talk to, but I am lucky enough to also have a friend locally to talk to. It makes it much easier. Have you asked your Dr. if he has a local website for you to find someone locally to you who has gone through this? I would look on this website also under your surgeons name andthere may be a list of some people who had the surgery. I do not live close to my Dr. but I have looked it up and found some people who had the same surgeon. I would also highly reccommend that you get to a meeting. There is a lot of support there from people who have been through what you are going through! We even had a nutritionist from a vitamin company come to speak at ours last month. She had a lot of information to give us and it helped me a lot.
You are down a whole 90lbs!! that is fantastic! I do not know of any other way that you could lose that much in only 6 months! You are doing fantastic!! I am so proud of you!
I am at a stand still right now also and since I just had hernia repair surgery 3 weeks ago it is hard to do anything to get that scale to move.I can not exercise or even walk too much. I am not allowed on my feet for more that 35 mintues and it is still very sore. But I am not going to let that get me down. I am still down 93 pounds and couldn't be more proud of myself. I have a 3 year old and a six year old. I look at it as loosing both of them! If I picked them up at the same time, that is how much I have lost. Try it! I guarantee that you will be excited about how far you have come! Or think about carrying around 9 10 lb bowling balls. You may be losing slower now but it is still worth it! That scale will move and when it does, it will be suprising to you! How wonderful to know that we are just starting in our journey!!

HI Kat!
Your first step was to ask for help. Always a good start. You know you are doing awesome on your weightloss
To get back on track...so your body begins to lose weight again (Remember you could be losing inches, especially if you are working out, muscle weighs more than FAT!)
To kickstart your loss again my surgeon recommends the liquid diet again. Start back at basics.
Two days of CLEAR LIQUIDS
Two days of FULL LIQUIDS (include your protein drink)
This should kick start it!
I have struggled with having plateau's and this is what I do. It works. Don't ever leave a WHOLE month without weightloss, without talking to someone. A nutritionist or your surgeon's assistant. At least that's what I was told. My surgeon wants me to call if I have a whole month without any loss. Just to make sure everything is okay and to review what I'm eating.
As far as having a mentor. To be honest, I don't have anyone either. but don't really need one. I know people that Have done this, but since I kept this a secret (and will remain to keep it a secret) I chose not to share. Everyone is different, so if you feel that a mentor will help you out, then maybe try your state's messageboards?? Or team up with someone that had surgery around the same time you did from your surgeon's office.
Hope this helps.

You can get back on the wagon - it's easy! Just remember your goal - picture it in your mind. Measure yourself (either with clothing or a tape measure) so you can visualize the changes. A number on a scale MEANS NOTHING. It is what you see in the mirror and how you feel.
