Hey all you helpful encouraging people!!! I was wondering what you are getting checked in the way of bloodwork? My insurance ends on May 31st and it would be really nice to have my labs done first. I am not sure what to ask for. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!! Hugs, Molly

Sorry Molly, I have not had any blood work done from my doctors office since surgery. Expecting that when I go on the 3rd.

Yeah, I guess I am a little early on this but just want to get it done. My surgery was not done locally and my mid-wife who did my IUD was kind enough to offer to order them for me I just am not sure what to ask for. Thanks! Good luck at your appointment! Molly

Hi Molly. I had labs done at 4 months and just got the bill....$650.00. Insurance only paid $400.00 and I am stuck with the rest. Yikes! I'll pull out the bill and check because I know it listed everything that was done. I'll e-mail you later today when I figure out where my husband put the bill. Melissa

Hi there Molly, I just did my labs this morning. They checked for malnutrtion,proteinlevels,calcium,iron,b-12,dehydration. Thats all that I remember on my paperwork when I checked in. I hope this helps. Kelly

Molly, Different doctors order different tests. Just call your surgeon's office and ask them to fax you "their" standard order and you can take it to any hospital lab and have them forward your results to your surgeon and PCP. Larry

Here's the big list my surgeon gave me for the six month checkup. I'm supposed to have them done at the beginning of June so they'll be available for my mid-month appointment: IDC Codes 285.9 269.2 1. CBC (85025) 2. CMP (80054) 3. IRON (83540) 4. TIBC (83550) 5. B-12 (82607) 6. 25-OH VITAMIN D (82306) 7. PTH (INTACT) (83970) (WITHOUT CA+) That's word-for-word from the lab order sheet. I'm not sure what all of that means , but there you go!
