Peanuts - The Enemy!

I am seriously a peanutaholic. I never liked peanuts before surgery, but now I can't get enough of them. I wake up and think about peanuts. I don't think I should be eating them - they are somewhat good for you, but they are so freakin high in calories I might as well be eating something better...like a protein shake. You would think I'd be craving brownies or fried chicken. But no. I want Honey Roasted Nuts. I have to buy them every day because I keep throwing them out to prevent myself from eating them, but I can't help it. I'm a peanut junkie!!!! I feel like a failure because my weight loss has slowed down tremendously. I need to lose 50lbs and I'll be totally content with myself. Has anyone else gone through this? Should I be concerned?

OMG! Elizabeth! I just bought myself a can of Honey Roasted Peanuts at the grocery store this afternoon! I couldn't resist! Then I come here and see your post! LOL My nutritionist has told us time and time again that peanuts are a good source of protein and a good, quick "snack". I agree, they are high in calories but I say as long as you're not gaining weight, go ahead and eat 'em! Hugs, Christine 257 / 175 / 137

All I can say is that you look wonderful my dear. Talk to your surgeon about your weight and concerns if it's bothering you that much. I still have a longggggggggg ways to go before I reach that goal I might want to be at. I would like to be around 140lbs. Donna 338/222 -116

I am a cashew addict. I have to have them everyday. The protein is great, but the fat content is high. My nutritionist said they are fine to eat because we don't absorb the fat like we used too. I still think I need to give them up. I am trying to switch to soy nuts (they are pretty yucky) but they are much lower in fat. Good luck on the quest to get rid of the peanuts. Cheryl P.S. I looked at your before/after pictures...you look great!

you look fabulous, our weight is gonna get slow now...I am only losing about 5-7lbs a month and sometimes not even that. don't worry have those nuts, especially if it keeps you away from sugar. you look like you are surrounded by loving family and friends, keep up the good work. dee

HI - I too had a peanut problem, but mine was for dry roasted peanuts. That addiction came to an end very quickly. They made me soooooooo constipated that I thought I was gonna explode. NO MORE PEANUTS FOR ME.

Isabel, Mine is cashews and almonds. Unsalted almonds are actually very good for us. Nuts give us the right kind of fat that we need. Your not a failure - there are much worse things you could be craving. Your doing great! Candy

The honey roasted peanuts could be fueling your addiction since they are sweeter. Try plain dry roasted or peanuts in the shell to avoid the adeitive. The fat in peanuts is monounsaturated, so it is a healthy fat to eat. You do need some fat in your diet. Sue O.

You look Good Girl! I don't think a little peanuts will hurt you. As long as the weight continues to come off. Anyway we don't have as much weight to lose now! Deana
