Down 60 pounds and holding!
Hi alll you great December folks!
I am so proud of everyone's successes but am a little disappointed in my own. I know we are not supposed to compare but it is so hard! I am five months out and down about 60 pounds. This has made a wonderful difference in my health, confidence and quality of life BUT...I have been stuck at the same weight for quiet a few weeks. What would you do? I am not really sure what exactly I should be eating and am feeling more than a little sad about this whole thing.
I do not label myself a slow loser but do feel like there must be something I am doing wrong!

Maybe you should talk to a nurse or someone at your surgeons to find out what you should be eating or to go over what you are eating and see what he/she thinks. Also maybe if you are excersizing your body has gotten used to the amount of excersize that you are doing and therefor won't lose anymore until you up your excersizes. I have started getting up at 4 am and going for a mile and a half walk then getting ready and going to work. It helped a lot. I'm not saying get up at 4 I'm just saying maybe change what you are doing. Change usually jolts my body back into weight loss mode. Besides all of this if you are feeling better be happy that you aren't feeling the way you were before. I know I am.

From where I am sitting I see someone who is hot and . I know what you are talking about though as I did not lose any weight for 7 weeks then all of a sudden I lost 11lbs only to come right back and gain 5lbs and have not lost any now for another week and a half . It does get frustrating but we are going to continue to lose I'm told and I have to believe that or give in to the thought that we did this for nothing. Anyway have a great day. You and I are doing just about the same. I've lost ten pounds more than you, but I weighed a little more than you. I just read your profile and we also eat about the same - a lot of grilled vegetables and shrimp, etc. I talked to my doctor about it and he says that I'm eating great - my labs are great - everyone loses differently. He also says that I need to keep in mind that I have a lot of muscle, which weighs more. Even though I weigh 191 right now - I am wearing a size 10 in jeans and 12/14 in slacks. Also, if you are like me - even though we are losing slower - I don't have a lot of excess skin. The only place I have it is my tummy. I still have a ways to go, but it's coming off. But I have to remember, I'm healthy, I'm off all meds, no longer diabetic, and feel great. We will get there! Hang tough Molly - your doing great girl!

Hi Candy!
I have really been following your progress and appreciate your input. I still have your email saved from when you told me what your surgeon's guidlines were for eating at 3 months.
Wow! size 10 jeans? You must be a leggy thing...pretty soon your gonna be a leggy ~little~ thing!
