Two weeks is not really a platue. It's when your stuck for like four or six weeks then you can panic. We get spoiled with seeing the scale move every week and once our bodies slow down then we freak. You lose weight rapildy with the Atkins Diet and I was on that diet a few years back. If anyone got stuck at the same weight they would tell us to up your water in take and exercise. Also look at what your eating, maybe to many carbs. Donna 338/224 -114

Annette, I too am stuck. I have been at 250 for at least 3 weeks now. I am getting frustrated and your posting and replies helped. I will look at my carb intake. Maybe I am getting too careless with my carbs. I have had some pretzels and white bread this week. I will cut back and see if this makes a difference. I also now that I began have 1 cup of coffee daily for the last 3 weeks. Could this be blocking my weight loss? I am drinking my water, sipping all day and evening. I am exercising. I feel smaller, my clothes are getting bigger and fit differently, but the scale remains the same. I feel that I will be breaking though a huge barrier once I am below 250. Have not seen a 240 number for over 19 years. Please scale move and bring me closer to me healthier weight. Continued good luck December crew. We are doing awesome and we are successfully TAKING BACK OUR LIVES. Hugs Monica 12/06/04 330/250/1??........healthy.

I've had frequent stalls since my surgery. I've only lost 43 lbs since then, although I also lost 37 lbs prior to surgery. I've been at 225 for 4 weeks now. I've not shrunk during this stall, either. My shortest stall was 1-1/2 weeks. This one is the longest. I keep telling myself that if I stick to the rules of my diet plan, get in enough fluids and get adequate exercise, that eventually the scale will move again. That has been true for every stall I've had. Eventually things do move again. This long stall, however, is making me a crazy lady. Tomorrow is the day I weigh myself, and there will probably be some choice words yelled at the scale when it shows me the same weight I've had for the last 4 Saturdays. One thing that might help you is to find some goal to concentrate on during the stall, to take your mind off the scale. Early on, it was easy to find a new goal. I worked on things like consuming 80 gr protein daily, drinking 64 oz water daily, exercising daily, exercising for more time during each session, exercising more intently each time. During this stall, I'm continuing to concentrate on exercise intensity/endurance. We're all really into the grunt work of losing weight. I never really had a extremely rapid weight loss right after surgery, well sorta for a couple of weeks. I have to remind myself that I was a size 30/32 last summer and I just bought summer clothes in size 20 for this year. Last year I could hardly walk from my car to my desk without coughing and wheezing and my heart pounding. Things are better, but I'd like them to continue on that path a little faster. God luck on your continued good efforts. Sue O.
