Hi Jamie,
Ya know, when I get on my plateaus, like I am on again, I gain and lose the same 3-4 lbs over and over and over..... But when I start doing that I tell myself..... ok, here it goes again.... you know you have to get on that scale, so if your gonna do it, remember, in your plateaus, you do this every time... As long as I tell myself this, I am able to keep myself from going crazy about it. I have learned within myself that it is ok for me to do this, and that eventually my body will have it's catch up time, and I will go back to losing again.
My suggestion would be to sit yourself down and have a talk with yourself.... I know that sounds funny, but what is happening is normal, and no reason for concern.... Your body will get back to where it is supposed to be, and start losing again. As long as you are eating according to your surgeons advice, you are doing nothing wrong, and with time it all works itself out. Then if you need to, do as so many say.... throw out those scales and don't weigh every day. Maybe if you don't see the pounds moving up and down it won't bother you as much.
For me, I couldn't throw out mine.... They are what tells me when I need to make a change in what I am doing. But I really don't allow them to make me crazy. Plus, I enjoy knowing that when I am losing regularly, that seeing that weight loss is my reward...

JAMIE... I HAVE DONE THE SAME THING... THE LAST PLATO I HAD WAS ABOUT TWO OR THREE WEEKS... I WEIGH EVERYDAY.. BUT I DON'T GET CRAZY.. I JUST WEIGH WRITE IT DOWN AND GO ON... I GAINED THE SAME 4 POUND BACK AND FORTH THE WHOLE TIME...
BUT AS SOON AS I GET OFF THE PLATO... I DROP LIKE CRAZEY FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS...
DON'T GET DISCOURAGED YOU ARE DOING GOOD... LOOK AT THAT FROM 334 TO 255 IS AWSOME....
JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON AND IT WILL ALL COME TOGETHER...

Hi Jamie;
I have just posted a message on our board and I hope you will read it to see if you can find some answer to your confusion. I also hope it will encourage you to stop and smell the roses for a bit for I will assure you that even though you may not make the personal goal you have set for yourself I will bet your Husband will be so proud of you when he gets back that you will wonder why you are beating yourself up. He will have an all new wife to come home to and it will make all the worrying seem useless. Your Loser Friend,
James
Jamie, I had the same problem (still do actually). I didn't loose a drop, lb, inch NOTHING for almost a month...and it drove me crazy...now I am slowly (it seems) loosing again. In the time from my 3 month ck up (5 weeks or so ago) I have lost 12 lbs. I feel it should be more, and I'm wondering if I'm going to be loosing this slow from now on...
It is frustrating when you are 'supposedly' doing everything right and you aren't loosing as fast as you'd like. I swim and walk 3 - 5 times a week depending on the schedual, eat very little calories, no surgared drinks or anything like that, take all the stuff I'm supposed to take and still only loosing slowly. It's enough to drive you bonkers!
All I can say is keep on keepin' on, and hopefully we'll all get over this little hill.

Hey Jamie
Just wondering could it be possible that it is water weight? The reason I ask is because I myself just came off a plateau. For four and a half weeks I kept seeing the same 3 or 4 lbs come and go. I would get on the scale one day and be down 3 lbs and then the next day get back on the scale and be 3 or 4 lbs heavier. I know I was not eating enough to have gained so I figured it must be water weight. My plateau finally broke after 4 1/2 weeks and I dropped 8 lbs in 3 days. I had to keep getting on and off the scale to make sure the numbers remained consistent. Just a thought. Those plateaus are a real bummer but what a rush when we start losing again. It will happen.
