will we ever eat food that is normal?
Everyone acts differently with this surgery. I'm learning that you have to learn to read your body. What foods make my pouch upset and how much makes me feel full or over stuffed.
I also found out that if I don't eat I sometimes feel sick so I put a little something in my pouch.
The best person to talk to is your surgeon about how your pouch is feeling. You can explain in greater detail what's going on. My surgeon will call me back if I call and leave a message.
Right now I hate food and have to force myself to eat.

I feel that I eat "normal" and I am only 4 1/2 months out. I don't eat large portions, but I eat alittle bit of everything. (except sugar) I can eat in restaurants and as a dinner guest, without looking out of place. I have learned that it is okay to eat smaller portions. No one even notices if I take less or leave food on my plate. That is my normal, now.

I remember wondering the same thing. At 4 months out, I can now eat pretty well. I never got sick much early on, but my stomach would hurt if I ate certain things. I could not tolerate pasta or chicken and I can eat them now with no problems. I also find that I can eat more, which worries me a little.

i don't know whether it's a good thing or bad thing (i like to think it's a good thing, kinda) but i can eat everything. nothing bothers me. not even sugar. i try to eat protein alot, but i also eat carbs ( i just have to have them sometimes.) i eat small portions but include all the food groups. good luck. sue
Yvonne,
I was constantly sick for the first 2 1/2 months. Read my profile and you can see the journey I went on with this. I now feel wonderful.. Please don't let the sickness discourage you. It does get better. You must stick to the plan though.
