Hair was just fallin' off

Ok, kids..... I fully caved!!! My already thin hair is going away and I wimped out and bought a wig. I've never purchased a wig and it was very interesting. It's a store that sells all kinds of hair and hair products, I get hair there for our daughters braids, but never a wig..... I went in the store and asked about a wig. Now the poor clerk took one look at my head and I clearly saw pity in her eyes . I told her not to worry, that it would grow back in a couple of months. There was that look again!! She told me that I would go around the corner to what she called the" white wig section" Now looking around at the regular section I saw beautiful wigs, probably over a hundered, with lovely colors and styles. So around the corner I went, and laid out before me in all there glory were the "white wigs" all eight of them!! Now being almost 60, half of them were out, cause they were waist length and bright red. Then there were two grey ones. I have spent an excessive amount of money in my life getting RID of grey hair. So there were really 2 to choose from, one frosted blond and one curly blond. So I chose the frosted one. But it looks really nice and you can't even see my scalp!! I am glad I bought it. I had fun in the store and told several people about our surgery. One took the name of the hospital and Dr. It was a good experience........ I am now down 80 pounds. My hair will grow back but I guarentee I will never be fat again!!!! ((((hugs)))) Judy

White for white peoples hair. I always go to this store as I said to get hair for my daughters braids. They do have mostly African american products , which my daughters are, but I always noticed that they had really nice wigs. My friend shopped there when she had radiation therepy,they specialize in really good wigs. I've seen many wigs online but not many where you can actually try on the wigs. Judy

Enjoy your new look! I'm having the same problem and just cut my hair in the front. Its actually a style nice update and will look cuter when my hair thickens up. I also bought a wig so that I could alternate and provide rest for my hair. It's fun having these different looks. Cheri

Good for you! You have me over here though. Because it never dawned on me that most of the neighborhood beauty supplies around here do focus on African-American hair products, but I never thought about it! However, I never thought about wigs in terms of black and white. I guess the hair color choices would make it a black or white issue. The things this surgery points out!!!! Be sure to post pictures in your new wig! I opted to cut mine off again and start over when my shedding started. If it is still shedding in the fall (I pray not), I will begin my search for the wig!!!

I thought it was funny too, that's why I posted! I would post my picture with and without the wig, but I can't figure out how to put my picture on there. I'm not sure what to do about the wig because it really doesn't look real, but my scalp is getting more and more visable. I think I'll wear it if we go out to dinner or Church and leave it off around the house or the store etc. ((((hugs)))) Judy
