Nothing Moving
Hi Gang;
Well I am in the middle of my 8th week of no weight loss. I am now getting very frantic about this. I have consulted with my nut and she wants me to do weight training as I previously told you guys but I don't have time nor the money to join a gym right now and I can't afford to buy a weight set so I guess that I am just going to stay where I am now and try to forget about it. You know when I started this I was told that I might have to see a shrink because of the loss of my friend (FOOD) and yet here I am now not missing food, well adjusted to bariatric way of eating doing good in every aspect and then Nothing I do helps me break this place I am at. So it is looking as though 260 is where I am going to stay. I have been thinking that I might try clear liquids for a week and see if I can jumpstart this losing process again. Please give me some feed back on this or if anyone has had this happen to them for this long please tell me what you did to break free. Your Friend,
James
How about resistance training with those rubber cables you can buy for around $20 (or less if you can find them at a garage sale or something like that)? They really can give you a work out. I work with a personal trainer and she will have me "row" with them and do bicep curls, etc. (Don't just hold the handles, for more resistance she has me grab it farther down so it is harder...)
Pushups or modified pushups, ab crunches, squat to a sitting position and back up.
You could use detergent bottles as weights.
There is a lot you can do with very little if you put your mind to it!

No complications, VERY happy!
James, please don't get discouraged... I had a period where I did not move either. Up tha****er, cut out any crystal light or whatever sometimes the sugar free chemical affect you. Make sure you get your protein. Use an resistance band, get it from walmart for like 5-9bucks w/the exercises included.
Your body is fighting against this weight loss, (starvation mode) maybe up your calories to 1000-1200 if you can (i can't eat tht much)
what ever you do, don't quit, don't give up!!!! You have come to far to turn back now.
Be encouraged! And when you need some love just know the OH family is here to support you. I feel this way sometimes too, and OH comes thru everytime.

Try tracking your daily intake on www.Fitday.com Your calories should be 1000-1200, protein 80-120 grams, water-minimum 64 oz. Input everything you eat and determine if you are getting enough protein.
Foods to avoid: White milk, sugar, bread, rice, pasta, alcohol, carbonated beverages and any foods with over 10 grams of fat.
Exercise - Walking is the best and it costs nothing. Cardio exercise burns fat. Light to moderate weight training with only 3 or 5 lb weights would be okay. You can buy cheap weights at Wal-Mart. I paid $12.47 for 2 three pound and 2 five pound weights, with a work-out DVD at our local Canadian Tire (a sporting goods store)
Don't worry. This plateau will break. You are not finished losing yet.

James,
I understand... it gets frustrating when you start slowing down.... I am trying to boost my loss. I have a little over a month until my 6mo and my goal is 100 lbs and I am 15 lbs short.... Add walking... maybe up how much you are walking.... Also I agree with the others, there are ways to exercise for cheep... like using liquids... Fill old milk jugs with water... or find something else like that. Just make sure you remember that when you start doing this you will probably build some muscle so you will not drop weight too fast.....
Hope this helps....
