I am almost 5 months post-op and have lost 84 lbs since surgery. Since last July I have lost 117 lbs. I breifly dated someone and it was a messed up relationship and screwed with my head, reciently I met someone that I am interested in possibly but am afraid to date. He found out last night I had gastric bypass surgery and seemed a little weirded out by it. I guess my question is should I persue dating? Or should I wait a little longer? Also, for those of you who are single and have dated since surgery how did you explain the surgery and when did you tell the person? Also, what kind of responses and questions should I expect. The only other person I have dated since surgery had gastric bypass surgery so we knew about each others experience. Thanks for the great advice I know you guys will give. Jane -84 lbs

I'm not single but I don't understand why he would be weirded out over you having WLS. It's not like they operated and you woke up with two heads. You have to decide if your ready once again for the dating scene. Donna 338/232 -106

Don't give up on dating. The right person will accept you for who you are and the surgery won't mean squat. Keep looking. Continue to be honest and the right person will find you. Karen G
