How many calories...
Hi Everyone!
How many calories are you all eating? I keep track of my intake and protien on fitday.com and as my recovery advances I have been noticing my calorie level going up and up. I now take in between 900 and 1100 calories per day and I log EVERYTHING! Also noticeing head hunger is bbaaacckkkkk... yikes!!! What do you think?

Dear Kristina,
I have been between 1000 and 1200 cals for the past 3 months. I think it depends on what you are burning off. In the end, it is all energy exchange....calories in vs. calories burned. I get about 7 hours of activity per week where my heart rate is in target range (220-age) X 65-80%. I also weight train for 45 minutes 3 times a week. Based on what I'm burning, my doc's office said I could go up to 1500 and still be OK. Best of luck!!

I totally am on the same page as you. My hunger is back I feel hungry all the time. In fact I just posted a question on the main board about that. I get about 1200 cals on a good day and 1000 on a lower day wow I know! I am afraid its too much my dietician says 1200 though. I m not too sure especially now that the hunger is back. I also am not losing as fast aaaahhhh! Only 2 lbs in a week and a half and I was averaging 4lbs a week so Im a little concerned. Let me know if you find anything out that will help me out too. how has your loss been the same?

Not sure on calorie intake. But I'm doing much better on my liquid intake!!
Jamie I can understand the slow losing. I'm down 47 lbs. It is much slower than many of you BUT it is still 47 pounds gone for good!!! Jamie hopefully slower to come off will mean it will NEVER come back....AMEN

Hey Jamie,
I am just lurking on this board. I mainly post on the other board. I just wanted to respond to this post. I had my surgery on Dec 20th 2004 and have lost 85 pounds so far. But...I...like you....have slowed down to about 2 pounds a week. I am told that this will happen. It seems like the first 60 pounds or so comes off really fast. I think it has a lot of do with how much you need to loose also. I have about 60 more pounds to loose before I am at my goal. So...I think they will be coming off slowly from now on. How have you been since this post??? I didn't see the date. I was just reading these at random.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I hope more people will check in and let me know what their caloric intake is like.
I do focus on the protein vs. calories but still can not help but notice a huge increase of calories from surgery to now. Angie your activity level is great. I definitely need to work out more often. I realize the weight would come off faster if I were more active also that I was considered a light weight for this surgery (not that I agree), so the weight comes off more slowly for me. My loss has been 48 lbs in 4 months. When I look at the number how can I complain, but when I compare my loss to others I get discouraged.

Hi Kristina,
I am in the same boat as everyone else. The headhunger has returned with a vengence. My calorie intake is probably close to 1200 mainly due to the late night snack attack. My lunch is around 7:30pm and I get home at 12 am or so. I have been overdoing it a bit on cheese and wheatthins when I get home. I have also slacked off in the exercise department. My protein level is very low so with all this my weight loss has slowed to 2-3 lbs a week. My dietitian suggests increasing my protein and water intake and getting more exercise. I am determined to beat this thing. Good luck to you. As I experiment with different things I will let you know how it works.
