3,179 Pounds Down for the December Crew (please add yours)
Wow... we were definately some 'big' folks ya'll. With the last post, being mines, from last week.... we have lost a total of 3,179 pounds so far.
I am sure there are a few who did not participate or add their weight to the count, but I won't expect a GRAND TOTAL until everyone active is counted.
I know I haven't been around, but thanks to everyone who is 'hanging out' up in here, so when people like me disappear, it won't hurt too much! Only I was hurting knowing I was not here with you guys, but I managed to catch the 'weight train', and add my -65#!
So proud of so many of you -100, -90, -80, -70, -60, -50.... and I know that each of us will do so much better.
I am asking that those of you over -70, try to encourage those of us who are still a bit behind. I have to keep in mind that the larger you started out, the more weight you loose... and it may seem like a world apart from the others, but the difference, from the beginning, means so much.
Thank you Ron, for that bit of advice, and I am proud of you, and your fellow -100 December Crew brotha's and sista's, who are 'there' with you!
Just know, we need your support, because those large numbers can sometimes discourage the 'slow loosers' but we must keep in mind, we are all in this together, and encouragement, understanding, communication and SUPPORT is crucial for EVERYONE, so do try to share what has worked for you... and not just 'jump in' without understanding the next person. Talk about what you are doing: exercise routine, protein routine, food intake, water/vitamin types, etc. (Just share and help your fellow December mate)!
We all are doing so wonderfully! I, especially, am proud of our -100# loosers because they are the ray of hope that we look up to, and they should know that we aspire to get there! Help us!
Just know we are 3,179 pounds lighter in this world, and it will only get better. Again, if you have not added your weight, go to the post (the one with the highest responses is the one, from last week), and continue the train. Not here, but there!
Thanks Beckie for starting it!
Luv you All!
Vera, Crew Encourager
Sorry, Vera, I haven't been around here in a while, been busy "livin' life" as they say. I am down 98 lb since I started this process in Feb 04, and down 65 since surgery 12/27/04.
I'm finding that I have so much more energy, and have started to feel like I don't stand out as much as I did. I'm still big (wearing 22-24), but getting smaller everyday!
I am starting to lose hair, which I figured would happen, since it happened to me after all three of my c-sections.
Have a good day everyone, and I'll try not to stay away so long.
Shirley
Good Day Vera,
Yes we all doing wonderful on our weight loss
It's amazing how one surgery can bring so many people together and one surgery can make so many changes in our life's.
Look at Ron, already found himself a girl HURRAY for Ron
Everyone's self esteem is up 200%
I'm looking at going back into the health field and dropping retail as there is no real future in retail unless your up on the high ladder. I took this job because I felt that's all I could while I was trapped in that large body of mine. It was like being in a prison
I told myself I can do this and so I put my application in yesterday on line for a job at the hospital and already have a date and time that I must go in to the HR for some movies and what ever else I must do to get the ball rolling on getting a better job. I still have must look at the cost and travel as this job will be much further to travel so if they don't pay then it won't pay for me to go that distant.

Hi Vera, Glad to see you post. I've finally broken the dreaded platau after 3 weeks. I'm down 71 pounds and have hit the 200 mark. One more pound and I will go shopping big time! I am down to 2 pairs of slacks, one pair of shorts and 2 t shirts. But that was my goal and I stuck to it! So I'm proud of me!! Love and Hugs Judy
