Haven't posted in awhile, but here is my latest update... I've hit my first platuea (only spelled right). I've only lost half a pound and no inches this week! I'm thinking about going back to a liquid diet, for the next five days to jumpstart my weightloss again. What do you think?

Only your first one??? Wow, your lucky.... Juts give it some time, and let your body catch up with your weightloss so far. No resaon to jump start nature yet. I think our bodies need these plateau's every now and then to catch up. I have already had a couple of plateaus so far. Eventually, things turn around, and after a few weeks I start losing agin. Just my opinion though.... Susan Lap RNY 12-1-04 285-206-155 (-79)

Give your body time to adjust before you start tampering with it. It's normal to stall as your body is adjusting. I'm sitting at 235lbs and I'm not worried about it. I might start worrying if I'm still at 235lbs after three or four weeks. As long as your still on plan then give it time. Donna 338/235 -103

I wouldn't worry too much. Have you upped your excersize to get your weight loss going again? I thought I had hit my first plateau and went and mowed a couple lawns and that plateau thing just dissapeared!! I have lost 5 more lbs in total since Friday. Just look at what you are doing that is different from the beginning. Just like if you were eating normal you have to increase your excersize as your body adjusts to the changes or it will completly adjust and will get comfortable and just relax where you are at. I couldn't believe how much a difference it makes with more excersize and watching what I am eating.. I get side tracked I have noticed but once I get back on track I am okay. Our surgery dates are 1 day apart so if I were you and this was my first plateau I would look at what if any changes I have made. I thank God for helping me through this and keeping me from hitting plateaus. Good Luck and God Bless -Michelle Morton

Hey Brooke, Missed ya! I am having the same stalls here as well. I am happy with my progress so far and am not dwelling on the scale it will move. Just keep remembering where you started and that next year at this time, we will be maintaining! Measure yourself and go by the inches too, you will see them go down! I wouldn't do the liquid unless your nutritionist suggests it. Good luck and it will come off! Hugs! Fran

First one? Lucky girl. But I'm sorry Brooke - that is not a true Platuea(sp?). It has to be six weeks of no weight or inches lost. What you may have is a stall. But you still lost a half a pound. Give your body a chance to rest - you've really worked it hard. It will start again when it's ready. I went eight weeks and only lost 5 pounds - I thought I would lose my mind. Then I realized - hey, it just needs a break. I'm only losing 10 pounds a month now - but it's still 10 pounds! LOL Hang in there. Candy 266/202/?

Brooke, If you "only" lost 1/2 a pound you are NOT on a plateau. A plateau is when you are not losing anything including inches. Girl you are doing awesome! Don't worry. Kathy

I have had several plateaus. One for three weeks and one for two weeks. They seem to go by on their own. 345-328-262-200
