and I know you guys are just the people to go to.... I have hit yet another plateau... (UGH)... I also an dealing with the monthly visitor (sorry guys) and I know that may contribute to my plateau. However, I know that I am not doing everything that I should be or could be. I was sick with a sever sinus infection and I am finally feeling better but I didnt get to the gym for over a week and I know that I am not drinking my protein shakes like I should be. I am so thankful for this surgery and I would not have been able to lose 47 pounds in 3 months without it. I just feel like I am cheating without meaning to or slacking off....? Sorry guys, I had to vent... Thanks for listening. Hugs, Beckie XOXO 255-209-170 Pants 16 down to a 12

Beckie, First be proud of what you've accomplished so far! I have the same problem with "that time of the month" and it drives me crazy, but I've found that if I really kick up my water then my weight loss really starts moving and it helps with the water retention. From reading your post I can see that you know what you need to do, get back to the gym and get going on the protein girl. It's really hard getting back on things after being sick for a while but you can do it and we are here for you so vent away whenever you need it. Hugs, Loni

Beckie, Hang in there twin. I'm right there with you. I only posted that post earlier because I was trying to look on the bright side. I also had a sinus infection. We are truly twins. You are still doing great. I just wonder if our fast losing days are over. It slows down drastically somewhere between 3-6 months. Neither of us had a huge amount to lose, and they say you will lose half of what you need to in the first six months. I think we have both done that. I'm down 60 and would like to lose another 60 to be at my personal goal. That would put me at 140 for being 5'5". I think going forward we can expect to lose about 6-8 pounds a month. This is still a good steady loss and we will still make goal. But we may have less extra skin as a result, and be more able to keep it off. Again, you're doing great! Hugs, Candy 266/207/?

Everyone loses at a different rate and the less you have to lose the less pounds are going to come off. That's why we bigger losers are losing much more but we will slow down also. Don't give up Donna 338/238 -100

HI Becki! I am a lurker and have gotten a lot of support and info from all of you here so first thanks for sharing and posting, you are helping so many!!! Next I think we are very similar in weight loss. I started out at 243, lap rny 12-20-04 and am now 195. That is only a 48 lbs loss for me so far. But it is a loss, not a gain and I do feel better. Now foods taste better, my appetite is larger, I am able to tolerate more foods and the old head demons are coming out of their slumber. It is SCAREY isn't it??!! If I want to lose all my weight I know that I am going to have to WORK NOW. The first 3 months I coasted and recovered. Now I am going to have to help myself along with good food choices (high protein), exercise, and just saying no. When I take the time to ask myself if I am truly hungry or just WANT food it is almost always that I want to eat vs. need to eat. Sometimes a hot cup of tea takes away the desire to nibble. I too notice that right before my period my appetite increases a lot. I am thankful for the "Tool" of surgery and now I understand fully the term "Tool". We can do it!
