Vera needs some help wiht food ideas
I use www.fitday.com to track my intake. I achieve 80 grams of protein per day and exercise for one hour, six times per week. For exercise, I do strictly cardio - treadmill, bicycle and belly dancing. The key is to enjoy your exercise. Do what keeps you moving and keeps you having fun. For high protein choices, try adding some garlic shrimp to your diet. It is a great source of protein.

Ron,
I would be more than happy to help our dear Miss Vera out. I'm not sure what she can tolerate but if you can eat eggs I would highly recommend Frittata's, they are wonderful and you can put anything in them that you want and make them very high in protein. I made one last night that I could just eat everyday here's the recipe.
2 TBS Olive Oil or you can use Enova
1 potato, peeled and cut into small cubes
1/2 onion, chopped
salt and pepper
6 large eggs
1/4 cup cream, or you could just use skim milk
1/4 cup grated parmesan
2 oz. Ham, chopped very small
2 TBS. chopped fresh Basil
Heat oil in a heavy 9 1/2 in. skillet over medium high heat. Add the potato, onion and garlic. Season with Salt and Pepper to taste. Saute over medium-low heat until the potato is golden and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, about 7-10 minutes.
Preheat the broiler. Whisk the eggs, cream, parmesan cheese, ham, and basil in medium bowl to blend. Stir the egg mixture into the potato mixture in the skillet. Cook over medium-low heat until the egg mixture is almost set but the top is still loose, about 3 minutes. Place the skillet under the broiler until the top is set and golden about 4 minutes. Using a rubber spatula, loosen the frittata from the skillet and slide it out onto a cutting board or plate.
I also really like making chicken salad and have recently started eating salads, but that really depends on what you Dr. says.
For exercise I've started doing step aerobics 6 days a weeks for 40 minutes a day and then do about 30 minutes of toning all over each day also. I walk with my daughter and dog during the day also. You might also want to get a pedometer and try and get in 10,000 step every day. You know another good work out are the Leslie Sansone Walk aerobic workouts, very easy to do and she has so many different levels you can do as little as 20 minutes a day up to an hour, and it's a pretty good work out.
I drink lots of water each day and some crystal light and Iced Decaf tea and some Mootopia(10 oz.).
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
Love you Vera,
Loni
Missy Vera, I like shrimp and I know that you do too. I buy extra large cooked shrimp. I bring them to work, I eat them at home. I nibble on them, dipped in a fine, hot ****tail sauce and love it. So very decadent to be eating shrimp, just me. I also love my protein drink in the morning. I boil up a bunch of eggs and bring them for mid-morning snack. I pair this with some sf peaches or applesauce. I have a big bucket of cashews on my desk and take a handful when I need. I have Atkins morning start bars in my desk, great source of protein. I have soy nuts too. Today for lunch I had mini mini egg noodles, tiny bowties, with chopped up onions, celery, carrotts, and pickles (so fine), mixed with a pouch of albacore tuna and lite mayo. Delicious so very good and filling.
I also have sf jello and cozy shack puddings in the frig. I also have begun eating my lean cuisines again. Just the right amount for a great lunch. I prepare and always have good food choices with protein first around me. I take in b/w 70-90 grms protein a day at at least 900-1100 calories. As you know I sip water all day and evening.
I purchased special pretty plates for me, these are dessert or salad plates, just the right size for my downsized foods. I also have 4 Nalgene bottles, two for water (one at work, the other at home), 2 smaller bottles for my protein drinks, same arrangement.
As I stated before I joined a gym. I can use the treadmill for 30 minutes and can do the 18 machines geared for me with the Nautilus room. I need to go there on a more consistent basis. But even at work I am walking and getting around so much more than before. Little steps equal big changes. You can and you will do this women. We are all supporting each other and we are loving and interested in each of our success.
Monica
Hey Ron,
Vera, this is my typical day:
B: Protein shake: Unjury choc protein powder mixed with 16 oz choc carb countdown and a banana mixed in.
L: 4 oz of cottege cheese and sometimes a salad.
S: Power crunch bar
D: Usually seafood and fresh steamed veges.
I eat a lot of seafood. I found some frozen shrimp kebobs at Kroger. I usually just marinated them in olive oil, fresh herbs, a little red pepper. Then I throw them on my george foreman grill. My daughter loves them as well. They also have scallops. I just keep the boxes in the freezer and pull out what we need. We also eat a lot of grilled, or baked fresh fish. Never fried or breaded. I love seafood and it's very good for you.
I use fitday.com. I get in about 90 oz of liquid and about 100 gms of Protein in. I only get to go to the gym three days a week. I try to walk at lunch. While I was in my 6-8 week stall I was very tired and could not make myself work out. I finally just forced myself back into the gym. I hope this helps, but I still think you are doing great.
Hugs,
Candy

Hi Ron,
This is for Vera. Love ya girlfriend!
Okay, I have been on a real big salad kick lately. I always start with nice soft bib lettuce or spinach (high in iron) or even the Dole prepackaged kind, take a roaster chicken and "shave" the meat off the side, add fresh mozzarella 1 little ball sliced thin, roasted peppers, some walnuts or almonds, and add anything else that has added goodies like protein, how about some chick peas? Any way I used balsamic vinegar and yum! I think I eat a salad with chicken or tuna every day! I also make meatloaf with 1 package of Lipton Vegetable soup mix, some bread crumbs, salt, fresh ground pepper and 1 egg (if you can tolerate ketchup squirt some in before forming). We had center cut (very thin) pork chops browned first in pam spray and then sauteed for awhile in Campbell's golden mushroom soup. It can be served over rice, but I don't eat the rice, they do. If you cook it long and slow it falls apart! Throw another shrimp on the bar-b, love it! Lump crab meat (expensive, but worth a splurge) sauteed in broth, butter and lemon with diced onion, celery and old bay seasoning and a sprinkle of pepper and salt. A little custard ramekin is a great serving. My old faithful, eggplant rollatini and also I am able to eat chicken parmesan and chicken francese. Chicken is a very big staple in my diet. Cook's ham steaks sit well with me too. Green beans almondine with garlic salt and a dot of olive oil in the water before nuking! I also found a great protein bar at GNC. It is Myoplex light. It is 15 g of protein and I supplement with this. Also fruit is a common thing during the day for me. Strawberries and mandarin oranges. I have to say I have also had a little bit of microwave popcorn.
Vera, we are here for you. I miss talking to you. Good luck and I also need advice on London, so email me my friend!
Love,
Fran
P.S. Ron you are a great guy and you care so much!
RON, THANK YOU BABY... YOU ARE MY SWEETIE! I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!
SO MANY WONDERFUL IDEAS, SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM. HERE IS MY CURRENT MEAL EACH DAY:
8:00 a.m. (cup of green tea, about 42 oz/spenda)
10:00 a.m. (protein shake & bananna, about 35 g)
3:00 p.m. (small salad, with egg, turkey sliced, cheese, lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing)
7:00 p.m. (glass of water, or apple juice)
Really, this is about it. I don't have an appitite. I try to eat inbetween, but I really don't have an appitite. Should I force myself to eat?
Sometimes, I get a small bag of cheetoes, or protein chips, and try to drink more water, but not really.
Reading everyones menu gives me an idea that it is ok to eat. I think I am just afraid to gain weight, or get sick or something.
Thanks for your support, love and advice, and I'll e-mail each of you personally with my love as well!
Fran, I'll e-mail you about London, too!
