happy dance for a fat girl!

guess what? I am wearing a tee shirt that I received three years ago for a present for speaking at an engagement on behalf of my company... Its a 3X- heres the thing- I received this tee shirt and have been unable to wear it because it was way too small- like we are talking sausage-casing when I first got it! The sleeves were too tight, my belly wouldn't be covered completely- just awful! So this morning I'm getting ready for work and I had nothing clean to wear- or so I thought- cause I was lazy on the weekend and didn't go do my laundry, you know? I stood before my closet looking into it and I thought- I'll bet this one doesn't fit yet- boy! was I wrong. The last time I tried it on it was still pretty-awful looking- really tight, too short, sleeves were tight... and now? Its just a bit too big- in other words its perfect! I am happy and stupidly excited about fitting into a teeshirt that is the tackiest-purple-you-can-imagine... one that normally I would never be caught dead wearing- and here I am wearing the damn thing -in public!- cause it finally fits! Makes me wonder what else is in there I haven't tried on in a while.... Anything in your closet you can finally fit your butt into?? That you haven't worn in years- if ever??

Wonderful. I too found some old clothes that haven't fit in YEARS. When I tried them on, they were too big. Who would have figured. Hurrah for us all Monica

Hi Katherine!!! Isn't it wonderful!!!! I have outgrown (or undergrown, as the case might be) EVERYTHING in my closet. I started out in 26/28's or 3X's. I had some 24's, and even a few 22's in my closet when I started. All of that stuff has been pulled out of the closet and is now gone. I had 4 huge boxes, and 2 lawn bags full of stuff. Luckily for me, my best friend had this surgery, and my sister as well, and they have both sent me hand me downs. Now the largest thing in my closet is an XL, and they are starting to hang on me too. I am now down into a 16 in pants, and and 18 in tops. I even tuck my shirts in now, and can even get a belt around me. I have come down 2 sizes in underwear even. And there is nothing worse than baggy drawers!!!! I am hoping my sister hurries and loses a little more weight so she will send me some 14's soon. Hand me downs from WLS patients are great as they haven't been worn for very long. I figure another 2 weeks max and I will have to go buy some 14's. I am still having trouble not going to the Plus Sizes.... Old habits die hard. Susan Lap RNY 12-1-04 285-217-155
