Hi everybody... Anyone having problems with flabby arms? Mine are hangin so low I almost knocked one of my kids out!!! Sooooo... I went to the store and bought 2 five pound weights, not really knowing what the heck to do with them....Anyone know of any exercises to firm up a little. I know that surgery down the line is available, and, at 59 there isn't much firming that will come naturally, but I'd be glad for any suggestions...... (((hugs))) Judy

Hi Judy I also have batwings! Hold the weight in your hand and stretch your hand straight up with your elbow being very close to your ear on the same side. Bend your elbow and let the weight go up and down behind your neck and head. It may help to hold your elbow that is next to your head and ear with your other hand. Do about 20 reps on each side. This will work the batwing area. Hope this helps. Mary Salmon

Hi Judy, I too have "batwings" . I have some 5 pound weights also, this is what I do. I sit on the edge of my bed and lift my arm up behind me at a comfortable height then bend your elbow up to your shoulder. Don't move your shoulder, just your elbow. I have been doing these for about 6 weeks at least 3 times a week and twice a day. I have had good results. If you have any questions, please email me back. Good Luck and I hope this helps! Hi Judy, I am starting to get them too. I have done both exercises recommended here already and they are good. My sister-in-law is an exercise instructor (too bad she lives far away). Anyway, her advice was for me to buy the rubber bands that they sell for exercise. She said that she incorporates them in her toning classes and they work great. So, this week, I am going to buy a set. I'll keep you posted! Fran P.S. I am 60 pounds down today!

I've been doing exercises for both the biceps and triceps for a couple of months. I see muscle definition under the skin, but the batwings are so stretched out I don't hold out much hope that they're going to tighten up too much. Sue O.

HI Judy, I recently joined Curves and I haven't been going long enough to see results but I have the "batwing" problem going on too...Anyway I know that my instructor always makes me keep my elbows up...so when you use the weights make sure your elbows stay upwards. Thats about all the help I can give you , I hope it helps. Also you might want to go check out your local library and see if they might have some exercise instruction books and that may help you find the right type of exercise to do to target certain areas. God Bless you and Have a Blessed Easter. NannaS
