Feeling Tired
For the past week I have been very tied all day. I had the surgery 3 months ago. All blood test are normal. I just started to eat more solids.
Has any one else had this problem? I called the docs office and thay said to eat more protein, and that during the first year some people just need a knab during the day.
and of course, CALCIUM...
It must be the protein though. Eat more stuff like Tuna or Fi****ried these great VanKamp Grilled Fish Fillets that my nutritionist suggested. They have 23grams of protein!!!!! I love the garlic herb but they have lemon butter and other flavors. Try that. I do find that I take a 45min. nap at work sometimes, especially when we're waiting on a "Mommy" to give birth and she's only dilated a few. Then I take my rest. Or sometimes I'll take a nap right after work.
Take care,
Gracie

Howard, I hope that you are getting in enough calories (900-1000/day), enough protein (70-90 grms), enough vitamins and minerals (I take 4 chewable Optifast vitamins a day with extra B), enough carbs (100 grms/day), and enough water (I drink 100 ++ ounces per day). I have had to adjust my bed time. I go to bed an hour sometimes 2 hours before I used to. I have increased my exercising and I move around a lot more during the day. I can't say I am bounding over with energy, but I notice the difference in my stamina. Are you depressed? Is something emotional going on that you are not aware of? Change can be difficult and can zap us of our ability to function. Remember you are listening to your body and if it wants a nap, than nap. Write down what you are eating daily. Or use FitDay.com to track your intake and activities. Also if you feel that something is wrong, don't be afraid to call your doctors office. You are paying for their services. Good luck
Monica
It might not be related to your weight loss. SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder - could be the culprit. The winter is dragging on and we all crave the better weather of summer. Perhaps your body is just tired of the season. Try changing up your routine. Do something special for yourself. Be sure to get all your vitamins.

I typed this once before lunch today, and then something happened with our Internet service and the whole message when away!
I used to have days when I felt profoundly pooped. Even on good days, if I wasn't working, I'd sleep late, take a nap, go to bed at the regular time without problems. My labs were normal, but I began to suspect that I was missing something somewhere.
My dietitian said that there was no scientific evidence linking vitamins injested and energy level. Despite what she said, I upped my vitamins. I take a mega vitamin and calcium dose in the morning and evening. I take sublingual B12 twice per week. I take an iron supplement (which has added citric acid to aid absorbtion) twice per week at lunch so that the calcium doesn't interfere with the iron absorbtion.
I don't have any profoundly pooped days any more. Last weekend, no naps. I have been able this week to increase the time I spend on the treadmill and other exercises.
Hope this helps--
