changes noticed
what changes are you all noticing since your surgery?
I know I have lost 75 pounds, my scale tells me so... but I am only just now starting to see differences- my belly is still so big, I think it will never get lost!
-my legs are getting smaller all around (hopefully I don't have chicken legs underneath it all)
-my rings haven't fit for a month or so-
-when I have a bath there is about two inches of space between my hips and the side walls of the tub! Before? It was a tight fit.
-my guy says my arse is WAY smaller than it was in november!
-now into a 3X tee shirt (started out at 5-6X)
-I have neck bones and now i am starting to see them...
-shoes are a bit too loose (size 11- used to wear a 10)
-walk faster, longer without draining of energy...
-climbing stairs in the subway: I can walk them without sucking wind or having calf-pains start cramping me up!
-down from an xxxl sportbra to a 1x sportbra and they aren't sagging too badly yet!
well?
what are you noticing?
Hi Katherine,
I had my surgery on Dec 30th and I'm down 53 lbs so far.
Changes I've noticed are:
Rings/watch are too big...
My shoes are sloshing around on my feet...
I went from a 2x top to a XL...
I went from a 2x pants to 1x.. and they are getting baggy quickly.
You can see my dimples now!
I get alot of compliments about how good I'm looking...
I use to bite my finger nails cause I was so nervous about carrying 100 lbs around with me... I stopped biting them right after WLS, and I give myself manicures and can wear pretty rings now!
I have more energy ... altho sometimes I still get tired if I do too much.
No more bra extender!!!!
Keep up the good work!
Renee
What a great post
I had my surgery on 12/27/04 and I am down 42 pounds so far.
* I have noticed that my ring keeps twirling around my finger as I type.
* I really do have an hour glass figure under there (seamstresses used to love me at one time as it was easy to alter my dresses.. then the middle filled out)
* Shoes are fitting me now.. I used to get blisters or they just plain hurt.
* my winter coat is HUGE! Thank goodness it is almost Spring!
* My shopping habits have increased .. (checkbook is not happy)
* Boys notice me... and not because I am the 'big' one. :sexy
* I enjoy shopping for sunglasses.. no more chipmunk cheeks...
* my butt hurts more as it is bonier.
* collar bones have been returned from the lost and found.
Keep it up ALL!
Beckie

Hi Katherine...
We had surgery the same day. I am down 64 lbs, and the things I have noticed.....
*Have gone from wearing 26's to 16's which will probably only last another week or so, as they are getting mighty loose on me. And in tops I was wearing the 26/28's, and I am in to 18/20's now. Plus, I was wearing 3X before and in XL now, but they are getting baggy too.
*My rings are also falling off
*My knees are so very skinny
*I've had to shorten the bra straps
*My tailbone has returned, and it hurts to sit
*I can actually walk across Walmart without having to rest
*I have had to move my seat forward to reach the steering wheel in the car
*I can sit in booths now
*I don't sweat anymore
*I can actually find a belt to fit me
Guess that all I can think of for now.

Great post there women. I am down 56 lbs and I marvel at the new me.
-My rings are big, my diamond keeps turing around my finger. I lost a beautiful Amethyst and gold ring - had it on when I left the house got to work and it was gone.
-I can wipe my ass without contorting into some obscene position. I can feel clean all over.
-Sex has always been very good, but now it is wonderful. My DH and I are enjoying new positions and finding pleasure hightened....very wonderful.
-I can walk and breath....TOGETHER. I could barely walk in November. Going or doing anything was a huge scarey chore. Now I walk, and walk, and walk. At work I move around all the time now. Before I would not leave my seat until I could not hold going to the bathroom one minute more. God forbid I had to copy or deliver something. Now I wear a pedometer and some days I have taken 4700 or more steps.
-I can exercise at the gym and work up a sweat.
-I can get in and out of my car better. I had to move the seat up and my huge belly does not hit the stearing wheel.
-My winter coat is huge and very heavy.
-I can now wear size 22/24 clothes, I have given away my 32/30's to good will.
-I have had to tighten and pull up my bra straps. Hard to find a new bra that fits. The cup size is still the same.
-I have had to throw out some of my shoes. I have shopped for shoes at Zappos.com for two years because they carry extra extra wide shoes. Now I can get a shoe that is wide and a size smaller. Happy feet.
-People notice that I am losing weight. I have been very open with my surgery and everyone here has been watching my progress and are very happy for me.
-I am taking less medications. My BP med was cut in half. My diabetic medications were cut in half, now I take one pill instead of 4. I am off other medications and I like that.
-I can walk without my cane. Most days I still need it but I can do without it more often. Hurrah.
-my beautiful necklaces, watches, and bracelets are big.
-I am happy.

I've noticed changes, eventhough I've only lost 34 lbs since my surgery (71 lbs since last August).
-I can cross my legs, without even thinking.
-My legs are thinner, especially in the knee and thigh. There are really
knees under there.
-Started out at surgery at size 26/28, now the 22s are loose, probably
ready for 20. Last summer I was wearing size 30/32.
-Feet don't swell any more. Don't need my surgical support stockings
-I had to buy new shoes because the old ones were so stretched out
that they fell off my feet. My 8-1/2 AAA feet are back.
-Bra size has gone down from 46DD to 42DD.
-Can work out for 1-1/2 hours per session. Last summer I couldn't walk
from my car to my desk without being short of breath, heart pounding
and wheezing.
Some things haven't changed: my hips, knees and ankles still scream at me. Only now, they are screaming because they are working out, not just hurting all the time while I sat there.
Such fun--
