I am happy to have found this page. This journey is a rough one. I have been hovering around 46 pounds for two weeks now. Even with the exercise I cant seem to get to fifty pounds yet. I mistakenly thought that the pounds would just melt away, the way they did for a co-worker. My annniversary date is just around the corner 3/27. I hope I have a break through soon. This is very disconcerting.

Hi Alisa, Congrats on your weight loss so far! You are doing great! Don't get down... remember all the positive changes you've experienced so far. Maybe up your protein...? That's what I've heard when you hit a plateau. Keep up the great work! Keep Smiling! Renee

Hey Alisa, 46 lbs is great!!!!! Just wondering what your weight was when you started cause the smaller you are the slower it comes off. Was your co-worker larger than yourself? No two people are alike dear and yours will come off at a healty pace. So hang in there and don't let it get to ya cause being stressed out won't bring it off any faster. E-mail me if you need to talk. P.S. you need to over the 46lbs you have lost.

Hello Alisha. You are doing very well women. I too hit a plateau and thought why can't I lose some more weight. I made myself stay away from the scale. I upped my protein and my water. I made sure I was eating enough and getting at least 900-1000 calories a day. I had a cold and did not go to the gym as much as I should have, but I went to work and walked around more during the day. I stayed the same for almost 2 weeks. I noticed that clothes were fitting differently. I realized I was losing inches and that eventually the pounds would reflect the loss. Sure enough that is what happened. I stepped on the scale and was down 5 than 6 pounds. I feel wonderful and marvel at the changes my body is going through. We must, HARD AS IT IS, not compare ourselves with others. We are each person unique unto ourselves. Know that you are doing all you can to achieve your goals and successes. Each day is a gift after this surgery. We all will lose and be healtier. Take each day as it comes. Make the right, healthy choices concerning food. Drin****il you can't drink any more. Know that each time you go pee you are getting rid of fat and pounds. Reveal in you and the good you are doing. Do not be discouraged or mentally beat yourself up. Also remember that if you are exercising you are building muscles. Muscles weight more than fat and the muscles are better. Measure yourself. Take pictures of yourself and see the difference. Be good to you! Monica

I'm thinking of changing my name to "Plateau Queen". I've learned that my loss pattern will be to lose a few pounds and then sit for a few weeks. At first it made me crazy and scared, but I've learned that is how it will go. Getting crazy and scared wastes energy. I've lost 34 lbs since surgery in December, 71 since last August, 84 more to go to get to my goal. The first pounds that came off were ones that hadn't been around very long. The ones I'm working on now have been here for many, many years and my body doesn't like to part with them. Make sure that you are taking your measurements. I've found that when the scale isn't moving, the inches usually are. I was a size 26/28 at the time of surgery, now maybe a size 20. I'm waiting until the end of the month to do any shopping. Our bodies have been through a lot these last few months. First we make it get stapled and cut and rerouted, then we feed it funny, and then we make it exercise. My body likes being a couch potato, so exercising 3-5 times a week for 1-1/2 hours a day is like h*ll, absolute torture. I would say you are perfectly fine. As long as you are eating appropriately according to the food plan you were given, drinking enough liquids, and getting in some exercise, eventually you will get to that 50 lbs and more. The thing you need is the one thing I can't give you -- patience. Good luck on your 46 lbs. I'm jealous. You had surgery after me and you are 12 lbs ahead of me. Sue
