Dear Friends, I had my 3 month post-op check up in Indy yesterday. The good news is that I have lost 52 pounds since surgery and 61 pounds that I lost before = 113 in total. I have 87 pounds to go. The bad news is I have a very painful ulcer in my tiny pouch/stomach. My doctor put me on 2 prescriptions for it and she is hoping this will take care of it. If it doesn't then I'm looking at that ulcer being cut out of my tiny pouch/stomach. I am now on a bland diet for at least 2 months. More good news, because of how much I exercise each day they moved me up to eating 6 times a day, 4 oz meals, 100 g of carbs, 75 g of protein, and between 1200 to 1400 calories a day. Surgery Date: 12/21/04 Surgery Type: LAP RNY Proximal Pre-Surgery Weight: 275 3 Month Check up Date: 3/18/05 3 Month Check up Weight: 223 Total Weight loss so far: -52#, -61# loss before surgery Pre-surgery size: 26/24 New size to date: 16 Meals Per day: 4-6 (varies) Protein intake: 70g Water intake: 48-64oz Foods that works: soft foods What don't: crunchy/hard food/fried food/spicy foods Advice: Don't stress it can cause an ulcer in our tiny pouches. Inspiration: Every time my weight goes down to the next # (like 220, 210, 200, 190 and so on) I just feel so happy and excited. Also buying the next size down on clothes knowing I will wear them soon. Have a Happy Easter! Mary Salmon
