Getting down in the dumps
Hi ... I am 11 weeks postop. I weighed 211 on day of surgery. Postop visit 6 days following surgery, 208...Next visit, 4 weeks postop...oops, 211...next visit 4 weeks later, 207....had "fill" ...I am getting very frustrated because my goal is to weigh 150 by June...{not going to happen I think}...Are any of you hungry all of the time? I am constantly hungry and try not to eat in between... Instead of losing weight, I am gaining!!! I am getting very frustrated...any suggestions??
I don't know what to tell you since I'm not a Lap Bander. Have you posted your question on the Lap Band message board? http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgtype-forums/LapBand/posts.html. You might have a better chance of getting an answer there.

Hi Hon,
I'm not a Lap Bander either but I am struggling with my weight bouncing back and forth with this same 5 pounds for 3 weeks now. I really don't get hungry but I do like to eat still. I don't know about you all but I'm tired of water, water, water. Today I had 16 oz of hot chicken broth which was a welcomed change for me. I also love the Diet V8 Splash all varieties and only 15 calories per 8 oz.
For me I have to kick up the exercises when I'm not losing. I keep track of everything that goes in my mouth and I keep track of the exercises too.
I don't know if this post will help you but I'm here for you.

Hey Judy! I'm a fellow bandster and after reading lots of posts on the Lap Band Board, it all seems to come down to proper restriction. I was lucky and had some restriction without a fill, so when I had my first fill of 1.5 it was actually too tight and I couldn't eat my protein (meats). I was backed down to 1 cc and then after a week, I was eating too much and too frequently again. So, I went back and had .25 added back in - luckily my Dr does my fills in his office and my first 90 days of visits were free! Now I'm at 1.25 cc's and seem to be just right. I eat less and stay full longer. If I get hungry between meals, I have a protein bar - love the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Q-Smart Bars by Quaker Oats! Seems to have done the trick! I'm down 23 pounds since surgery on 12/2. It also seems that eating the right amount of protein and drinking lots of water makes a big difference in my scales moving down. When I was too tight to eat, I didn't loose - even with every day! Once I could eat again, the weight started going down again. I go onto fitday.com and log my foods and liquids every once in a while to make sure that I'm getting the right amounts of protein and liquids and not too many calories.
