Not sure how I'm doing, how are you doing?
Hey all December's,
I'm just not sure how I'm doing. It's almost 12 weeks for me since my surgery and I'm down 44.5 pounds, how are you all doing and do you think this is ok? Not sure what I could do more to get my numbers up. I"m getting in over 100 ounces of protein a day and well over 100 ounces of water everyday. I exercise about 4 times a week which I guess I could do more, but everytime I really kick that up my incision area feels like I'm being torn open for days. I have a two year old so we keep pretty busy most days.
So how are you all doing? Do you have any suggestions for me of something that you are doing that is working really well for you?
Take care,
Loni

Hi Loni,
You sound like you are doing fine. You didn't start out very high in the weight dept (although I'm sure you felt like you did). I have lost 62 lbs, and am only 1 lb below where you started. Anyway, what I am getting at here, it that those who have less to lose appear to lose a little slower than those who have more to lose. As long as you are following your surgeons directions, you are doing pretty good. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi Loni,
I was just over a week after you... I have lost between 38 and 40 pounds (depends on the day and the mood of my scale )
I feel like I am slowing down as well... no matter what I do... then I look at it and remind myself that I wouldnt be down 40 pounds if I didnt have the surgery.. that motivates me.
I still need a swift kick in the a$$ and get my workouts going. I was doing great until I caught a cold... I will be going back tomorrow.

I've lost 33 lbs. in 13 weeks. Started at 268, now at 235. My pattern is to lose a few, then sit for a couple of weeks. I follow the dietary rules, get in enough liquid, exercise 3-5 times per week (depending on how sore my hips and knees are). I can't think what else I could do.
You're doing fine.

Hi Loni,
You and I started out at the same weight. I think you are doing great with your progress. I was 170.8 as of last Friday. I haven't weighed this week (trying to stay away 'til Friday!). I do Curves 3 days a week and walk or some other exercise on the "off" days. I am getting in my water and most days my protein. I am doing the vitamin supplements with no problem. I know that we may slow down as we get closer to 1/2 way there, but ask yourself "when was the last time I lost 44.5 pounds?" I can tell you I have NEVER lost that much before this surgery! I think the most I ever lost was 30 or so and put 40 back on! So this is a great thing for us! Try to remember that we are also building muscle and losing inches even if the scale may slow down a little. Keep the faith---it will come off. All my best to you. You are doing it right!

Loni, you are doing great....you are losing!!! That is what I tell myself too, I keep going down, it may be slow but it is down. I feel so much better too. The inches are coming off quicker...down 3 clothes sizes. I started out heavier too and have lost around 56 lbs. I have been bad about my protein the last week but my new supply comes tomorrow so I will get back on track.
