I'm so discouraged!!

Hi everyone, My RNY was 12/21/04, then, I had a stricture. When my surgeon dilated my stricture, he ruptured me, so I had to be repaired. This second RNY was 2/17/05. Now I have 2 wound infections. (A bad germ spread in hospitals). And, just these last few days, I'm vomiting solid foods, again. I'm pretty sure I have another stricture! I just can NOT go through another surgery!!! I have zero confidence in my surgeon. Zero confidence in that hospital! My family forbids me from returning there. And, of course, I don't want to risk going there again, either. I can't continue vomiting! If I have a stricture, I'll need it fixed, but... gosh, what a horrible situation I'm in. I can't go back to work till I'm well. I'm out of sick days. I'm divorced and get no assistance, so I need my income. I'm just so discouraged. Please pray for me. I need help. I'm losing myself and my courage.

ty all for you love, advice and support. It helps more than you can imagine. At times when I feel all alone and hopeless, I come back and reread these replies and it helps me get through the day and night. You are truly my angels.

Hi Karen, I want you to know that I know 2 people who have gone through something similar to what you are going through. 1 friend had a bowel obstruction and after the surgery got a really bad staff infection and was very sick for 2 months. She is doing great now and says she would still do the surgery again in a heartbeat. Another is a man in my support group. He has been operated on 2 times for similar repairs. He has helped me a lot in the short time I have known him because of his strength and perserverance. The main thing is that you get yourself better. See another doctor in your area. Visit the message board for your state and ask others for surgeon names. I think that you could also go to your primary doctor and ask for names as well. In the meantime, I will be praying for your full recovery and success. I want you to know that you can contact me anytime to talk. Also, keep using this site for support.
