What kinds of exercise are you guys doing? I'm enrolled in a class that comes with our WLS. It only meets 2 days per wk, but its fun. I still get a little dizzy doing aerobics, but I guess that is just the after-effect of surgery. Is anyone lifting weights to tone and sculpt. I'm starting to see BAT WINGS!!!!! I'm getting wings too. I Nordic Trac 5 hours per week, swim 1 hour per week, and weight train 3 nights a week. Per recommendations, you need to try to work up to an hour of activity 5-7 days per week for weight loss. I just started weight training a few weeks ago and it has really moved things along. Good luck! Angie RNY 12/15/04 302/251

I am going to the gym and walking on the treadmill 3-5 days per week. I am waiting for the trainer to get back with me to set up an appointment to go over the Nautilus equipment. I really like this type of equipment for weight training. This is a new gym and I must have the trainer explain the works to me. I am very pysched. I am also trying to walk more at work. I still use my cane most days. This past week with the snow storms and colder weather I am more stiff and have more knee pain. My surgeon is pleased with my progress and the exercise I am now doing. He said slow and steady is fine as long as I exercise for 30 minutes. The length is where the benefits come in. Hurrah for us all. Any movement at 330 pounds with bad knee arthritis was impossible for me. In fact in November I was only able to hobble back and forth to my car at work, get to the bathroom, and home again. I avoided all situations that involved movement. Now with the weight loss and my increased energy, I am living life again. Monica

Hey Jamie--- Let me know how the trainer works out. I'm considering that, if my metabolism doesn't boot up soon. Cheri

I walk on the treadmill and this weekend I will be starting to use the nautilus equipment. I'm also thinking about checking out the elliptical machines, has anyone tried those? Shirley

hi. yeah, i use the eliptical. i love it. it's all according to how i'm feeling- i do anywhere from 5-20 minutes on it. trust me, you will feel it when you start... but you burn alot more calories than just the tread mill. right now, i use the tread mill for 20 minutes and the eliptical for how many minutes i want to.

i've got myself some free weights to use around the house, i also have ankle weights to wear when i go out for walks, then i got a one of those big exercise balls (you know the big giant ones) i use that with weights also, and i bounce on it like crazy it helps to work the legs and butt, it is also a good for getting your heartrate up, i get a good sweat on 12/27/04 Open RNY 369/315
