January PO here wanting to know if anyone quit losing 1 mo or so po?
Hi Marti
Mine wasn't quite that soon, but I just finally got over a 3 week hump of not losing. What I found to be true in my case was that I had started giving up my protien shakes because I was gettin enough protien in my solid foods. I finally started the shakes back up, and after 3 weeks of not losing, or fluctuating between the same 4 lbs, I finally started losing again. Now I don't know that this will be the case for everyone, but it helped me.
As hard as it is not to get frustrated with the stalls, keep in mind that they don't last forever.

Marti-
I only get weighed at the docs office, so I wouldn't know. As hard as it is to not know what my weight loss is, it saves me the frustration of being concerned if I'm not losing. I keep thinking about buying a scale, but keep talking myself out of it. I'll get one eventually, but I know that I can get way too worked up by the number on the scale.
My weight loss so far:
8 days out -- 10 lbs
4 weeks out -- 21 lbs
8 weeks out -- 38 lbs

Marti,
I lost great for the first 2 weeks, than I didn't lose another pound for another 3 weeks! Since then I am "averaging" a 2-3 a week. (some weeks nothing, others several pounds)

It's normal. You will hit plateaus for your body to adjust. You will lose weight on the scale they your body will shrink. You will see the same number on the scale, but your clothes will all of the sudden be lose. I read the boards for 4 months before my surgery and saw it was normal. Usually most people just increase the protean and water intake and they start to the weight loss again.
For the first three months I tried not to live by the scale or to compare to others loss. It will drive you crazy. I lost slowly in the beginning but I caught up. I'm three month and am right on track for my goal. (-50)

Marti,
it sounds like what you are experiencing is typical around this time frame. I went for 3 weeks only losing 1lb. then the next week, I lost 7.8 lbs.
I have been given this advice and it worked for me...eat your protein first, drink lot's of water and exercise. Try not to be frustrated...it will come off!
