SOLID FOOD?
Is everybody eating a regular diet? I can't seem to keep any "real" food
down. I try the foods on the list that my nutritionist suggest, however
most of the solid foods I try come right back up!! I am surviving on
applesauce, sugar free jello, mashed potatoes and yogurt.I thought it was from drinking during meals, but I stopped drinking and am still unable to keep any solid food down.I am at week 10,have lost 62 pounds and have
alot of energy.I feel great, but I worry that I am not getting any nutrition.
I enjoy reading all of your posts.Keep up the encouragement Vera!!! We
all need you!!! Melinda

Melinda,
It sounds like you really need to contact your surgeon. You should be eating real food now. And if it is not staying down you may have a stricter which is pretty common.
Please contact him.
Wishing you all the best.

Melinda, I am eating almost everything on a normal diet. Please contact your surgeon. You paid him and trusted him with the operation. He or she needs to be told of what is going on with your new pouch. Don't fear that something is wrong, you must deal with this so you can be successful with the surgery and lose the weight you want. But you must keep yourself healty with this journey and not getting the proper nutrition is dangerous.
Be good to yourself and call the surgeon on Monday morning.

HI Melinda,
I'm so sorry to hear that you are having such a problem with solid foods, I would certainly check with your surgeon just to be on the safe side.
Have you tried eating 1 small bite with a ****tail fork or a baby spoon...some times this will help...make sure you are chewing your food to a consistency of baby food...Just do one bite of solid food and wait about 2 min and then the next bite and don't eat past the feeling of fullness. Stop when you feel the first sign of discomfort... See how this works out for you. I wish you all the luck, but also check with your surgeon to to be safe.
Good Luck,
Melissa A
