HELP
I am wondering about energy levels and sleeping. Please don't get me wrong I am not complaining but I have so much energy...... I can't sleep. I had my surgery 12-14-04 and am down 77 pounds (26 presurgery) I'm feeling good most of the time the problems I have encountered have been self inflicted but this not being able to sleep is getting to me. I went to bed at 12 midnight last night my son woke me at 3:30 when he came in I couldn't fall back asleep so at 4:15 am I am up doing laundry and cleaning my house. This usually happens 3 to 4 times a week. Any suggestions??????
OK, dont panic Laure. I am the same way I stay awake unti 12-1 in the morning and then get up at 5am and get ready for work and I am not tired all day. It must be the weight loss reviving your energy..But if you have any questions,,like we always say in here...Call your doctor ok? I think its a good thing to have all this energy. but better safe than sorry.. God bless you......Ron in Arizona..
Hi Laure,
I had severe problems with not sleeping before surgery and had been taking prescription sleep pills for 10 years. Right after surgery and say maybe the 1st month I slept like a baby without the meds. Now I too have too much energy and if I don't exercise and get rid of most of it I don't sleep at all. Sometimes it is so bad I only sleep every other night. Then I'm tired and dragging the following day. I'm trying not to go back to the prescription sleep pills but if this doesn't change soon I'm not going to have a choice.
I lost 61lbs presurgery and have lost 49 since surgery. I'm almost 46 on March 1st, my kids are raised, and the grandkids live out of town. If I had little ones at home or had to work or keep a certain schedule I would diffenently call your doctor.
Some nights it helps me to do leg raises and arm raises in bed until I get sleepy. Exercise keeps some people up but not me. Also a warm bubble bath, turning off the lights and TV might also help soothe you into sleep.
Hope this helps.

I too am having trouble sleeping. Well, it seems like trouble to me. Before surgery I could easily sleep in on the weekends until 11 or 12. Now, I do good if I can sleep until 730 or 800. I have to get up around 530 on weekdays for work, but just once I would love to be able to sleep in until noon. Usually what gets me up is having to go potty. I used to be able to go back to sleep, now when I get back in the bed I just toss and turn.
