Jeff, what is a Nustep? I joined a local gym and saw a trainer for a session to get me started again on the treadmill. I have bad arthritic knees and need to strengthen and USE the muscles in my legs again. I use a cane. Before the surgery I could barely walk a few feet, I would be short of breath and in such pain. Now with my 44 pounds gone I am walking and breathing sooooo much better. I had tried an elliptical machine last year but it hurt my knees to much. After I see the surgeon next week for my 2+ month post op visit, I hope to get clearance to use the nautilis equipment. Keep up your great work. Monica

You all are doing great with your workouts. I am still in need of starting something. When I feel good I walk for about 20 min. I know I need to do more, but I still feel so big it hurts my bones. I think when I lose a little more I will feel more like working out. Liz

I'm a little late replying but here goes. Included in the surgery price was a 6 month membership to the Del Sol Center's gym. I've been going for about 4 weeks (surgery 12/14). At first I just did the treadmill slow. Last night they approved me to do not only the treadmill(3.5hr for 25-30 min), the EDX (like a ski/step machine for 30 min) but now also upper and lower body weights and exercises. Even the Ab lounger which surprisingly didn't bother me like I thought it might. 2 repitions of 10 each. One for the front and one for each of the obliques. The instructor said I could do upper body i day and lower body another but that I should do the abs every time and build up to 3 repitions of 30 each. The major problem is getting all this done when I get off at 4 get to the gym at 4:30 and try to get it all done and get to after daycare by 6 to pick up my daughter. She taking her TAKS test for 3rd grade today XXXX your fingers for her. Linda 233/188/130
