New to the web site

I just heard about this web site. I have viewed several posts and found that everyone is very encouraging. It is nice to find something where you can share and hear what other people are going through. I had RNY on December 27, 2004 and I have lost 43 lbs as of 2/10/05 at the doctor's office. It is awesome to see the loss now and have clothes that are too big for a change. I am thankful that things have done well for me so far. I have been able to try new things w/ great luck. My only problem is I struggle with the protein shakes, I haven't found any that I could tolerate well, they make me feel full all day and then I am unable to eat anything else, which is very unsatisfying. But I try to make up for it by eating more protein enriched foods. Good to be a part of something wonderful!! I look forward to knowing everyone in the future.

HI Lori, We are all in the same boat. I hate protean drinks. I'm drinking my own version. I use fat free milk (10-11ozs is 11-13gr of protean) with carnation Instant breakfast (carb light, 4 grams of protean) then I add 1/3 cup dry instant milk (fat free, 8grams of protean) for a total of 22-25 grams of protean. It only works if you can tolerate milk. Liz

Welcome Lori; I have found that I tolerate the advantage chocolate delight by adkins very well. Haven't tried any others but I am considering branching out a little maybe. I also do the protien bars by adkins but only the ones in the silver foils. Hope to hear from you soon. James
