Hi everyone. I had RNY on Dec 3, and have lost 38 pounds. I have been feeling discouraged, but feel better now that I see there are others at about the same pace. I eat around 500-600 cals per day, trying to get in 60 gms of protein and usually get in about 50 oz of water. It seems sometimes like I am eating like a pig since I get so full; I don't know how I would get MORE calories in. I do wonder however, if more calories would help me lose faster. I should try it for a week and see what happens. Also, I walk about 1 1/2 miles 3-4 times per week.

I only weigh at the doctor's office, because I don't have a scale! I thought about buying one, but I tend to become scale obsessed, so I think it's better for now that I don't have one. Shirley

I used to weigh daily. After my most recent plateau broke, I've tapered off to a couple of times per week. Sue O.

I'm a daily weigher too.... I think of it as my reward for having this surgery. I have lost 54 lbs, but have been in a plateau for about a week and a half. I don't get crazy though when I hit these stalls... I know my body has to catch up with the weight loss. I am back on my stomach to sleep and have been for over a month. I got a recumbent air bike, and some weights, and on Monday I am starting 'Curves' with a friend. Maybe that wil jump start me. My biggest problem is that I have become lactose intolerant. I love milk, but it isn't loving me too much right now. Susan Lap RNY 12-1-04 285-231-155 (-54)

In the beginning I weighed every day but after 2 weeks I stopped and have only been weighing once a week now. I was going insane not losing one day then the next a few pounds would be gone.

Hi Tonya, I try weighing myself 1 x a week...because I do not want to become discouraged...I have lost 38lbs since surgery, it is starting to level off at about 2-4 lbs a week...I am walking 6 days a week for 30 mins. I have trouble sleeping only because my weight is shifting and causes me pain on my hips and buttocks, so, I am constantly turning side to side. I am having 55 grams of protein shakes a day for Breakfast and two 2oz meals and no snacks every day...I sure hope things go well with you and will be talking to you agai soon...Take care, Melissa A 343/329/291/???
