Where you at 13'rs? 2 mths
Hey surgery buddies. It is time for our 2 month check in. Sorry I am a day late. My official loss to date is 46.5 lbs. Can't wait til I hit half century point. Maybe by the end of the week. I did start exercising, but have not been to the gym in a whole week. I have been so busy lately with church, school and work. Well I just wanted to check in.
Tina
Hi Tina;
I too had mine on the 13th and have lost as of yesterday 47 lbs so we are running neck and neck. I too am looking forward to the half century and beyond. I got on a stall for 3 weeks and did not lose anything. I allowed myself to fret something awful and was saying to myself wouldn't this be a terrible thing to know that I did this to myself and not lose anymore weight. Anyway maybe it will get started and kick in to overdrive and start droping a little more quickly. But congratulations on your progress and I wish you the best.
James
Hi Tina and James,
I too am a 13'r (cute way to refer to us). I don't have an "official" weigh in this month because my doctor saw me at a month and said I didn't have to be bac****il month 3.
But according to my scale and the scale at Curves where I work out, I am down about 45.5 lbs. So I am a little behind you two. I really can't wait to hit the half century point. It means so much because for sooooo many years I would always say, "If I could just lose 50 lbs I'd be happy."
The truth is, while I am thrilled at the current loss and can't wait to finally be able to say I lost those 50 lbs, I am addicted to the weight loss and am really looking forward to being able to say 100 lbs gone.
But I get ahead of myself.
Good job to everyone and especially my other 13'rs out there.
Be well,
Michele (12/13/04)

Hey fellow 13'rs!
I too am a day late, because I wanted to go weigh in at my Dr's office (which by the way is about a 30 minute drive). I want to be consistent with the scales.
Drum roll please...I am officially down 51 pounds! I hit the half-century mark and am so happy. I am 9 pounds away from being able to kiss the 300s good-bye!!!!!! That will be major for me!
I just went to the store to try on some clothes for fun. Pre-op I wore 28 - 30's. I tried on a size 22/24 blouse at Ashley Stewart (whose clothes run small to me), and it fit! It was a little snug, but it fit!!!!
This tool is the bomb!
Yesterday when I weighed and measured I was down 52 lbs and 34 inches. I was in shock. I have gone from a size 26/28 jeans to a size 20 that I bought this past weekend and they are lose already. My shirts have gone from a 30/32 to a size 18/20. My bra size has gone from a 44 DD to a 38 C. I feel like a new person. I thank god everyday for giving me my life back. Some days are rough and I mourn food and for some reason lately I've been a little depressed but I'm sure better days will come. Congrats to all you Dec 13th losers!! Keep up the awesome work. I can't wait for the next month. I seem to have slowed down to about 3 -4 lbs a week and I'm totally fine with that. Talk to you guys in a month.
I was down 49 pounds at my 2-month check up. I had been on a plateau for 3 weeks. I have been walking for the last month or so every night for an hour to an hour and a half and have getting in about 100 gms of protein lately (last couple of weeks) through shakes. I weighed this morning and have lost another 5 pounds. We are all on track. My doctor said that we should have lost 30% of our excess weight by 2 months post-op; and 50% by 6 months post-op to be on track. Congratulations to us all! Besides protein shakes, I have been existing on cottage cheese, oatmeal, chili sometimes, and surgar-free popsicles. Oh ya, I did have a hot dog a couple of times and it went down and stayed down if I eat it very, very slowly and chew it well.
