Hi all... I am thinking that maybe I should take Ginko ! I am two months post op today Lost 54 pounds (shocking !) But am experiencing something strange. Thought maybe others have the same problem. My short term memory is not where it used to be! I forget little things - nothing major. But it is annoying (and somewhat embarrassing). I think it might be related to the nutritional deficiencies. Anyone else experiencing this? TIA! Laura

MMMMMM, what did you ask about. Sorry I could not resist the fun. I too am experiencing some memory loss, but this has been going on for a while. My PCP said that I am very busy and with working, being a wife and mother, just trying to juggle everything in this busy world can play into our minds getting stuffed full and some things slip out undetected. I have to write stuff down and even then I forget. I find it frustrating but I can't say I attribute it to nutritional deficiencies. All my blood tests are coming in normal. Monica

YES! I never attributed this to surgery. I keep repeating things that I tell my husband. I'll think of something, and then 5 minutes later not remember if I told him or not, so I'll tell him again. I hate it! Shirley

I didn't notice any change post-surgery. I did notice short term memory changes following a fire at my house 5 years ago, trying to put everything back together again and still get in all my normal daily activities. I guess anything that would change the flow of your daily life, where you can't operate on auto-pilot (like eating differently, drinking differently) is liable to give us memory short circuits. Yes Lord. I told my wife I think I am starting the first stages of alzheimers. I thought it was just me. Thanks for sharing as I was thinking I might be the only one with this problem. So we have found out that we are neither one all alone. Have a great day. James

This is deep! For me, it is just the opposite. I was a diabetic for about 6 years, and lost so much short term memory. Now that I am off insulin, and had the surgery, my memory is so much more clearer. I try my best to take 100g of B 1 (Thiamin) daily, which helps with the nervous system and brain function. Hope you guys remember that! (just couldn't resist like my baby Monica) Vera
