Update from check-up today!
Hi all my December friends,
I haven't updated in a while. I went to the doctor today and I am now 44 pounds down! I feel great and I weigh 180. With clothes and shoes on, 182, but that is okay too! I can't believe that in about a week or so I will be in the 170's!!!!! I am looking forward to that because when I hit 174 I will no longer be severely obese.
I am so very happy and have a lot of energy. I am struggling a little to get my protein and calories in, but I know that if I don't eat enough my weight will stall and so will my health... so I push on! Does anyone do protein bars as opposed to protein drinks? Any advice in this area is welcomed.
I know all of you are doing great from reading your posts and I want to thank you for your support, advice and inspiration. I know it sounds silly, but the other day I just sat down and cried because I am so happy this is working. For a long time I struggled and it was so upsetting and discouraging. It is so great to have other people who have been through what I have to talk to.
Thank you all for being there!
Soon to be skinnier hugs!
Fran
Fran,
Congratulations You are doing great. I don't really like the protein bars, but I went to GNC today for some protein drinks. I picked up a box of the mixed ISOPURE protein mixes and each one has "50"g of protein. I tried the Orange Creamsicle and it was great. There are also four other flavors in the box.
Keep up the good work.

Fran, I applaud your successes so far. Good job women.
I am fortunate that I found a really great protein drink, a powder made by Jay Robb. It is whey protein, comes in great flavors, vanilla and chocolate are my daily favorites. I by this at my Whole Foods Market. An 8oz drink made with 1 scoop powder and 8oz Smart Skim milk give me 34 grm protein. Hurrah. I read on the boards here about the Atkins morning start bars, very good and easily digestable. Good protein from them too.
I always have various cheese sticks around also. I always eat protein first to achieve the 70-80 grms my nutritionist wants me to have each day.
I also drink only water and a lot of it, 64-90 oz a day. My skin looks fabulous and not all dry and flacky like it usually is in the winter.
I had surgery on 12/06/04, have lost 43 lbs, and lots of inches. Hurrah for us all.
