Hi there fellow Decemberarians... (lol) I was reading all of the posts as I am addicted to this website and I notices that we all have hit a plateau around the same time. I also noticed (with the exception of a few) that we all lost about the same amount.. (I am down 25# although I havent weighed in in over a week). So... everytime I get bummed out or feel like I am not getting anywhere... it is nice to know that I am right on track with all of you... and that I am alright! Just had to post that... haha.. Happy Friday everyone! Hugs, Beckie 255/230ish/160

This is the beauty of this website. Common ground, common problems, fears, delights, questions, and achievements. I truly enjoy coming to this site and my over fifty forum (I am 57). I learn so much each day and love to share my good stuff and the bad. We are a village and we need each other, thank God. Monica 12/06/04 330/287/???

Hey Beckie - Your doing great. I agree - I love this site. I wish our December board was more active - maybe we can fix that. Have a great weekend! hugs, Candy 266/225/130

Hi there all, I have just found this board and I am also a December surgery patient. I have actually hit two plateaus during this process. There have been two separate weeks where I did not lose any weight at all. The most recent one was last week. I did start losing again this week, so I am feeling better. I will be sure to check this board more often. Best of luck everyone. Be well, Michele (12/13/04) 283/237ish/155

Oh the dreaded plateau! I myself have had 2! And let me tell you, I wanted to throw that scale straight through the window! Luckily they only lasted 5-7 days! I was in denial because I thought it was too soon for a plateau and I thought it only happened to people that were several months out. My success has been very good so I can not complain. I am so glad I found this board also! Especially the December one. Eventhough I am more of a lurker, I guess I should pot more often! Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! Tricia 285/226.5/135

I'm with you on the the platuea wagon as well- at about 6-7 weeks I hit one that lasted a little over 2 weeks. Discouraging- especially since my appetitie seems to be coming back at that s pretty scary also. I know my surgeons office stresses that the 18 month honeymoon period is the time when you really need to adjust your mind set to a new way of life so you don't blow it when all's said and done. I guess this means I need to roll up my sleeves and get to work!

Hey Amanda, We share dates, How are you doing? How much have you lost? I'm down 53 lbs. and now I've hit my second plateau. I was just wanting to compare with somebody that shares surgery dates. Good luck and God bless you.

Kim- I'm doing well thanks. I hit my first plateau about the 6 week mark. I dropped about 40 -45 lbs in the first 6 weeks, then kept juggling the next 3 for about 2 weeks. I finally dropped another 5, I started working out and increased my water intake and that elped. I haven't check in a couple of days- I got knocked on my tucsh with an upper respiratory thing and haven't even felt much like getting out of bed, let alone getting to the gym. But I am defanetly even eating less now- so we'll see how it all pans out. So it seems we are pretty close on overall weight loss. I started at 285 on a 5'8" frame and recently found out that I dropped a solid 2 sized in clothing. Cool Amanda

I've had 2 plateaus during my 10 post-op weeks. The longest one was 3 weeks long and I was a frantic crazy lady by the end . I was convinced that I was doing something terribly wrong and that this wasn't going to work. Well, the scale finally moved after each plateau. I found that I was shrinking during the plateau times, so I've learned to chill out (at least I hope so, wait until the next one comes along...). When that frustration starts to seep in I have to remind myself that I've lost 30 lbs (25% of the total I want to lose), have shrunk from a size 26 to a 22, I can work out everyday and I am feeling wonderful.
