Good Morn' Losers!! ( I mean that in a nice way!!!) I'm 6 weeks out and not getting all my liquid in. Are any of you Dec. babies having the same problem??? Also, I can not hardly finish a meal yet. It looks goods, smells goods and I start to eat and YUCK about 1/2 way through I make my self eat a little more and then I'm done. Do you all still feel like that??? I'm told it will get better and things will taste good and i will want to eat again. What has been your experience? Have a blessed day, I'm off to work and will check back tonight. Blessings Tonya

Tonya, Don't worry, it will get better. I remember it was right around my 6 week mark that I started feeling better and back to normal. I had surgery on 12/16/04 and have good days and bad days when it comes to eating. One thing that has just really shocked me is that my food tastes are changing, things that I used to love now I don't care for anymore. As for liquids, I"m just really in the last couple of weeks been getting my fluids in really well. It takes time and we are still trying to heal and recover. Have you tried Crystal light, that makes a huge difference for me. I sometimes do half water and half crystal light and just keep on drinking all day long, my jug is always with me. Hope things get better for you soon. Loni

I had my surgery on 12/06 so I am now 9 weeks out. I have no problem getting in all my water all day and evening. I keep a colorful jug from EMS with me at work and at home and wherever I go. These jugs are my reminder to sip away and I do it. My skin and hair are bette for the 70-100 oz I drink each day. I some times have no desire to eat but know that to remain in this journey and become healthier I must eat. My weight management group has expectations of calories, carbs, and proteins that I need to eat daily. I made up my mind when I decided on this surgery to do what has to be done. I am 57 years young and I know that this surgery and the behavior modification to food, stress, and life must be worked with a passion and committment to achieving the healthy life I have not had. Mind over pouch has to happen. Slow, small bites chewed well help. Diversity of meals helps. Spreading out my meal times from gobbling to slowing down has helped...VERY BIG improvement. Each day on this journey does get better. I have done some stupid food tricks that made me pay dearly. We are all learning what our new pouches like and dislike. We know the basic rules and need to make them fit our lives. Good luck. Remember you are paying your doctors or nutritionists for their help. Don't be afraid to call and ask for guidance. I love water!! I put my water bottle in the fridge at night, it's one of those sport cap ones then in the morning before I go to class I cut up some lemon wedges and throw them in there and some ice. It tastes yummy the lemon neutralizes and weird tastes in the water. Since it's a sports cap I end up drinking more than I realize with each drink. The water goes pretty fast and I dont realize how much I've actually drank. Maybe you should get something with a cap like that and if you have a problem with water you could put some lemon, or some lime in it too... I call it college student lemonade or poor folks lemonaide hehe. As for the food I can eat about 1 scrambled egg (1/4 cup) and get full or two or three bites of most meats and I'm full. I try to experiment with different foods but getting full and satisfied fast is great! I still "enjoy" eating and the taste of foods, but it's great to be satisfied with such small portions of the same great tasting food. I do miss donuts though hehe. Best of Luck!! Brooke

I am 8 weeks out and still having to force drink 64 oz's. I drink 16 oz on the drive to work in the morning and then wait 1/2 hr to have my breakfast which is usually 3 oz of yogurt or cottage cheese and I am full. I then try to drink my protien for a snack.....3 0z of Myoplex fills me up. I am not really hungry but know I have to eat. I try to drink 16 more oz's before lunch and stop 1/2 hr before. I eat 1/3 of lean crusine or 3 oz of tuna, salmon or chicken. Full again. Then I am back to drinking water. I dont seem to get a afternoon snack in because I am working and loose track of time. I drink up til bedtime and of course, have to get up and pee. I barely make 64 oz's and I do like to drink water, I really like ice. I am hoping I can increase as time goes on. becky
