Calorie and carbs question
I know every doctor is different, and I am going to ask mine Monday when I go for my 2 month check, but I thought I would see what everyone else is doing. My doctor and nutritionist told me how much protein I should be getting, but they never really said how many calories or carbs I should be having each day. How much is everyone else eating? Did your doctors tell you any certain numbers? I am afraid I am eating too much and than I read some posts and I am afraid I am having too little. I'm so confused!
Thanks,
Melissa
My weight management doctors and their nutrionist say we need at least 100 grms of carbs a day. Less and we put ourselves in jepardy. I have a hard time reaching this expectation, but they keep reminding me that to be successful for the long haul this is what we need. I was only eating b/w 700-850 calories a day and they want at least 1000 calories. At least 70-90 grms protein and lots of water 64-100oz. I have no problem reaching the protein and the water amounts. Some days I am at the 1000 calories and some days less. Each day brings new challenges and I try hard to follow the rules and keep on track. I use FitDay.com to put in my food amounts and this helps me stay the course. This journey is for a new life and like you I want to achieve a healthier better life.
Good luck, Moncia
Hi Melissa,
I spoke with my surgeon yesterday and he stated that as long as 50 grams of protein were consumed and 64 ozs. of water plus of course the multivitamins, calcium citrate, & B12 then it was okay. I mentioned to him that I walk 3 miles a day on the treadmill and he recommended that I drink 8ozs. of 100% Whey Protein(I bought it at GNC) before exercising. He also advised me to do my weights.
