My doctor's nurse who does all his follow-up appointments said that the one and only time I _wouldn't_ have blood tests done at a follow-up was my 1 month post-op. So it looks like my 2 month, 6 month and 1 year follow-ups will be followed by a needle and some blood extraction. I personally can't wait to see my blood tests results. I've already seen my blood sugars go down, as I've slowly lowered my diabetes meds, so seeing other important things like lipids go down will be as rewarding as stepping on a scale once a week and seeing my steady weight loss.

My surgeon does blood tests at 6 months post surgery. But, I have a primary doctor (mine is an endocrinologist) and he sees me every 3 months and does blood work each time.
