Weird??
I was wondering if you can dump on something besides sugar?? I decided to eat a little bit of the Tostitos's Cheese that is for Nacho's. It is in a bowl and in the chip aisle. After I had like 3 baked chips with the cheese on it I started sweating, my heart was racing, and I felt absolutely terrible. I thought I was going to hyper ventilate. It was the most horrible feeling ever. Then I started thinking, maybe it was the chips, so, what did I do?? A few days later I just ate the chips and had no problem. So, I thought lets test the cheese again...BAD MISTAKE!! Same thing happened. Has anyone experienced dumping on anything else but sugar???
Thanks!
Shannon
Shannon, I am 5 weeks out and have not had that experience of dumping or . I have been reading every label on every package for Fat, Sugar, and Sugar alcohol. I really think our mind is our worst enemy when it comes to food. We just need to retrain or brainwash ourselves on making better food choices and eating and thinking better on a daily basis.
I sure hope you feel better real soon and think twice before you take that bite of something you are not to sure about. Good luck to you in the near future.

Yes Shannon -
You can definately dump on things other than sugar. I'm not sure if it's technically still called dumping but I've had horrible reactions to oranges and 100% applesauce. It just takes time for your body to be able to accept these new foods again. Unfortunately you don't know what your body will and won't like until it's too late sometimes but it's all part of the learning process that comes along with the surgery. Hope this helps.

Shannon I have been doing a lot of dumping on things you wouldn't expect. You can puke one day on something and a couple weeks later you are fine.. Go figure!! I was able to eat spinach about 4 weeks out and now..no way!! It comes right back out. One thing though about what you said made me think. In no way is this supposed to offend you just a little advice that I have been given before from the diatician. This surgery is not going to help you get to where you want if you don't help yourself food wise. Eating things like chips and dip is what got us to where we were before our surgery. You have to eat as if you are on a low carb low calorie low fat diet. If you don't you will not lose all that you want and will slow down what you lose and most importantly will start gaining again. I for one did not go through all of the puking and crap that I have to not reach my goal. I hope you have a diatician you can speak with about this stuff because the fat content in stuff can make you extrememly sick.. Take care and God Bless. Please realize I too have made a few mistakes that took me to a lot of puking!! lol
