calories - december 15 babies
I was eating b/w 650-800 calories a day, tracking my intake on the free site FitDay.com. When I went for my 1 month check in with the weight loss doctors they said my calorie intake was way too low. They want 950-1000 calories per day. With 100 grms carbs and 70-90 grms protein. I had a big adjustment to make in the calories and carbs, I was always getting in enough protein with my protein drinks. My doctor and the nutrionist explained that anything below 1000 calories would mean I was starving myself. This type of intake would take a big toll on my body in the long haul of life. Yes I want to loose weight, but it has to be controlled and small steps each week would be the most benefical . Our bodies need to adjust to weight loss and the reduced calories we are now eating as post-op patients.
The best advice is to call your surgeon or the weight loss doctors or nutrionist. You paid for their services and they need to be there for support.

I'm a 12/15 baby too. I am taking in 1000 cal per day, 65-75 g of protein, and 64-75 ounces of water per day. I have lost only 34 pounds (a little slow, I know), but have had progesterone on board which alters insulin/carbohydrate metabolism and can make wieght loss harder. So, my modest progress is fine with me.

I also use Fitday.com I consume about 1200 calories per day. 85 grams of protein. 80 oz of water/crystal light/decaf tea. I am satisfied with my consumption and my weight loss. Everyone loses at their own pace. Don't be discouraged.... Be proud !!! You are doing great.
