Food choices, meal size, nausea
Hey Steve... first of all, I am so sorry you are not feeling well... it takes time for your body to adjust, as it has gone through so, so much, in such a short time. Just remember, when you can't eat, or keep anything down, make sure you try to at least get in your VITAMINS... and protein. I hope you are taking chewables, because the smallest thing can block your pouch, which will cause continued DUMPING. This is what I have experienced with not chewing properly.
As a result, I have been dumping quite a bit lately. Yes, me!
I started on my soft-food diet on 1/17, and it started off great. However, I MUST LEARN TO CHEW, CHEW, CHEW.... like a little train, so to speak!
However, like a few in our December 2004 team, as I introduced a new food, DUMP. On Monday, I ate a small breakfast, and DUMP... I drank a protein shake a few hours later, when I felt a bit weak... and it stayed down for a while, then DUMP. I then decided NOT TO EAT, and waited a few hours, went to work out, and after working out, I drank some water and DUMP... dumped all day.
I figured it out.
If I eat something in the morning that I did not chew well, it offsets the ENTIRE DAY. I also notice when I start the day with a protein shake, and a few hours later (lunch), I eat a bit... my day is DUMP free.
It is just a matter of trail, error, trying new things, and keeping track of it all. I keep track on fit.com which is free, and keeps you on track for all your nutritional values.
Good luck baby... and I pray you will feel better.
Vera
